“The Auntie, the Granny, every body a tief”: See a Video of Three Generations of Shoplifters (the Usual Suspects)

By An Old Friend

At Facebook.

By the way, the person who posted the video is definitely West Indian. That’s exactly the way people say “thieves” in Trinidad.

In 2006, I was in a car full of laborers, on our way to dig my mother-in-law’s grave, as we passed a new housing development there, where sugar fields had previously stood.

I asked one of the workers, Gopaul, “Who lives there?”

He answered, short and sweet: “Tief.”

Translation: Black criminals.
