Another friend writes,
I saw that the "blushing bride" does not look very much like the surrounding villagers. Did anyone else notice? She's much lighter and has more European features than the people in her town.
She’s much prettier, too.
Traditionally, high caste Indians are much lighter (as was the case with my late mother-in-law, may she rest in peace), while lower caste Indians are very dark, but the villagers are treating this girl as if she were an outcast.
In our fevered celebrations of genocidal black supremacists, genocidal Hispanic supremacists, genocidal Moslems, and feminist/homosexualist/other sexually insane whatevers, we tend to shortchange the multicultural blessings of Hinduism.
However, it’s really mean of them to have forced her to marry a stray dog, as opposed to one from a proper family.
