On Sunday, June 11, at 10 am ET, the Film Noir is Phantom Lady (1944). Ella Raines, Franchot Tone, Alan Curtis and Thomas Gomez star. Raines plays a gutsy secretary trying to save her employer from dying in the electric chair.
N.S.: I saw this picture on TCM about 12 years ago, and loved it! Among other things, it looked like it was made on a shoestring, but convinced me that the typical B studio (non-Western) picture was superior to the average, $100 million studio picture of 2005.
Another delicious bit was the performance of Elisha Cook Jr. And of course, Ella Raines was wonderful.

I watched The Razors Edge staring Tyrone Powers the other night on TMC.That is one of my favorite movies.Phantom Lady sounds good. Thanks for posting.
This is a noir of another kind.A paralyzed black guy is shot to death on the ghetto streets of Grand Rapids.I'm assuming for now he was done in by a fellow AA.This is the same area that a white transient was murdered (the Christopher Lloyd/Hugh Laurie lookalike)about three months ago. That crime was never solved--like 80% of the murders committed this year in GR.The odds are extremely high, both murders were by ghetto blacks. This guy was paralyzed because of a PREVIOUS shooting.Guess they finally got him once he became a stationary target.

TCM's Film Noir of the Week for Sunday, June 18, at 10 am ET is He Ran All the Way (1951). John Garfield plays a low level criminal who kills a police officer in a "robbery gone wrong." On the run, he meets a nice girl played by Shelley Winters and hides out in her family's apartment.
This was John Garfield's last film. He died of a heart attack (had a bad heart for a long time) at age 39.
Garfield's most famous noir, The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), was a paradigm for the genre. His character meets the sexiest woman he's ever seen (lana Turner) at the start of the film. At the end, he's being strapped in the gas chamber at San Quentin.
