One Night in Baltimore = Six Murders (or, at Least, Six Shooting Murders) and an Overtime Orgy the Next Day

“Six people were fatally shot in Baltimore in a single night, prompting local police to deploy additional officers to the streets on mandatory 12-hour shifts to try and quell the bloodshed.”

Is it “fatally shot”?

Or “shot fatally”?

Where does the modifier go?

N.S.: Is this just impression management? Is Baltimore City Police Commissioner Kevin Davis permitting cops to do their jobs, or is this the moral equivalent of having National Guardspersons marching around with unloaded weapons?

WBAL Radio 1090 AM - Commissioner Kevin Davis is sending officers to the streets on mandatory 12-hour shifts, and every officer who is able to be deployed on street duty will be.

Don't send in the police. Send in more ammo and weapons.

Overtime the next day to prevent or hope to prevent retaliation on a massive scale. The pot is boiling and the lid is barely being held down.
