CICERO, Ill. (WLS) -- One person is dead and at least six other people are injured after a west suburban car chase ended in a shooting and crash in Chicago.
Cicero and Chicago first responders went to the scene of the crash at West Roosevelt Road and Cicero Avenue in Lawndale just before 12:30 p.m.
Witnesses said a white car was chasing down a black car from Cicero when the black car crashed into two other vehicles at the border in Chicago.
That's when, witnesses said, multiple gunmen hopped out the white car and began firing.
"And then, they rolled over to the side of the street, and no sooner after that, a Bucha came, turned guys got out with guns. He just started lighting up the car.
"It's like, it's a war. That's what we're in. We're in a war," Louis Rainone, the owner of Roosevelt Gold Exchange said.
A Cicero spokesperson said at least four people suffered gunshot wounds, and one of those victims died on the scene.
(It's violence. It's on an, almost, everyday basis. It's becoming terrible.)
