My husband, Scott Miller, shot this video with a Canon 60d Camera using a Pixel TW-282/E3 Wireless remote timer set at 20 second intervals. He shot 1600 pictures from 7:00am until 5:00pm and compressed the 10 hours into 3 minutes and 30 seconds. He even took the day off work to help :). PGCE-P: Or something else?
What could it possibly be?
President Abraham Lincoln famously issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. "All persons," Lincoln wrote, "held as slaves within any State in rebellion shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free."
Though this proclamation was limited in its power and scope, it represented an important step towards freedom and equality for African Americans during the height of the Civil War.
This clip from our film The Abolitionists shares more about the moment Lincoln announces freedom for all the enslaved.
