Breaking News: Ebola Does Dallas; Feds are Permitting Passengers from the Ebola Zone to Spread Plague in America
If the government were using basic public health practices, this patient would not be here, regardless of his citizenship status, because no planes would be permitted to land here coming from locations in the Ebola Zone. Likewise, if the patient had started in the Ebola Zone but sought to switch planes along the way, he would also have been barred from entry.
Since the dictator calling himself “Barack Obama” clearly seeks to spread every plague known to man in America, and therefore refuses to use basic public health practices, the only hope for stemming this plague here is for airline personnel to refuse to serve passengers coming from the Ebola Zone, and go on strike, if necessary.

Deadliest outbreak ever
Medical authorities say the current Ebola outbreak, centered in West Africa, is the deadliest in history.
DALLAS (AP) — A patient in a Dallas hospital is showing signs of the Ebola virus and is being kept in strict isolation with test results pending, hospital officials said on Monday.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas said in a statement Monday that the patient's symptoms and recent travel indicated a case of Ebola, the virus that has killed more than 3,000 people across West Africa and infected a handful of Americans who have traveled to that region.
Preliminary test results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are expected to come back Tuesday.
Hospital spokeswoman Candace White would not answer any questions about the patient or where the patient had visited.
The National Institutes of Health recently admitted an American doctor exposed to the virus while volunteering in Sierra Leone. Four other patients have been treated at hospitals in Georgia and Nebraska.
Presbyterian Hospital's statement said officials there were following CDC recommendations to keep doctors, staff and patients safe.
According to the CDC, Ebola symptoms can include fever, muscle pain, vomiting and bleeding, and can appear as long as 21 days after exposure to the virus.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/09/racial_disparity_is_a_bitch.html No matter how hard the president tries to persuade the country that black people are the real victims of racial violence, black people will just not cooperate.Saturday night the president was telling members of the Congressional Black Caucus about how police are constantly picking on black people. For no reason whatsoever. And this racial disparity means police have to change -- arresting fewer black people, for starters. Or more white people. At almost the exact moment the president was repeating this standard litany of racial grievance, two black suspects in Ferguson shot a cop. They did not appreciate it when the cop found them burglarizing a business. To some, the fact that black violent crime is wildly out of proportion might disrupt the resident’s carefully crafted gospel of grievance. But to this crowd, it was easily explained. Congressman John Conyers did just that just a few weeks prior.Conyers was reminding the audience of a congressional hearing about the ins and outs of racism: How it is conscious and subconscious. How it is everywhere. All the time. And how that explains the enormous disparity in crime rates between black and white people.“With enough time and officers in a certain location, it is only a matter of time before they find reasonable suspicion to stop, detain and arrest someone -- or many people,” said Conyer, presaging the president’s remarks. This was not gotcha moment: The racist criminal justice system was all Conyers and the other member of the Black Caucus talked about during this hearing. No one is denying that protestors in Ferguson, unhappy with shooting of Michael Brown, have been threatening police with violence. Regularly for weeks. They just say this shooting had nothing to do with that. And neither did another shooting later that night: A carful of people shot a gunful of bullets at an off-duty Ferguson officer while he was driving on the freeway. Disparity is a bitch. While the president and his buddies at the Black Caucus try to figure out whether racist conditions cause black people to commit more crime, or whether racism causes police to arrest them more often -- for no reason whatsoever -- victims of black mob violence are hoping they figure it out fast.At the exact moment the president was hitting his stride about how black people are victims of relentless racism, members of a neighborhood group in North Minneapolis were struggling with the opposite problem on their Facebook Page:
A friend and I were leaving Fair State Brewing Coop around 9:30 pm (on Central and Lowry) tonight and were both assaulted by a group of 5-6 young men. We got away without more than 1-2 punches each, and quickly had the Police there to make a report (since the station is not much more than a block away).
As we were waiting for the Police to arrive one of the workers of the brewery said it has been happening often there. It was completely unprovoked and without reason.

The administrator wondered why no one thought that was important. But this much we know for sure: Everyone involved was black. Except the victims. And oh yeah, that has been happening there for a long time. Not just in that neighborhood. But throughout Minneapolis. That did not matter much to some members of this largely white neighborhood group. Several did not deny the criminals were black. Or deny black violence was astronomically out of proportion in Minneapolis. They just denied that anyone should notice. One member of the group offered her solution: Add more “No Parking at Any Time” signs. Denial is not limited to public officials and reporters.Another piped up with her story: “My neighbor told my husband and I tonight that 3 young males mugged her mother,” she said, almost apologetically. “A neighbor saw it happening and tried to interject but the 3 guys threatened him as well.”Still others posted links to other Facebook pages where people were beat probably by the same group of people. At least one member of this group tried to inject some reality into the discussion: “It's called the knockout game,” said Mark LeVitre “You’ve really never heard of it?”The president and John Conyers never have. At least to speak of.Same in Seattle: Just a few days before the president’s speech, a large group of black people surrounded and taunted and beat a gay white man walking through a park in a predominately white neighborhood.A surprising number of people at the KOMO news web site declared the victim was at fault because he had no business being in that park in the middle of the day. He was probably trying to buy drugs or cause trouble, said another.Whatever he was doing there, he ended up in the hospital beaten so badly he does not remember it. But the neighbors remember. They saw it. And they say it was the same group of black people who “are always causing problems” there. Other neighbors did not deny it. Finally they tried a curfew -- against the advice of a former mayor of Kansas City, Emanuel Cleaver, who is now a member of the Congressional Black Caucus: “All we are going to do is make a lot of black kids angry,” said the Congressman. He was right. Black mob violence proceeds in Kansas City and no one seems to be able to stop it.Over the weekend, at a black high school, several people were arrested after large-scale violence disrupted a football game. Niagara Falls: Black-on-White Murder in “Quiet Neighborhood”
Re-posted by Nicholas Stix
Note that while several residents, none of whom would speak on the record, maintained that the neighborhood was ‘quiet,” one who gave his name, James Miller, disputed that description. I’ve been hearing that phrase used for too long in places where heinous murders had just been carried out. I was thinking that it might be a euphemism for “illegal alien neighborhood,” since it is frequently used to describe areas where illegal persons had just been rubbed out. According to Miller, however, it’s just a crock.

Niagara Falls Police Arrest One Suspect, Look for a Second, After Fatal Shooting
By Antoinette DelBel
Updated 09/24/2014 05:51 P.M.
Time Warner Cable News
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Niagara Falls residents are trying to make sense of a homicide that happened at a home on the 800 block of Pierce Avenue Tuesday night.
"I am very shocked, very shocked," said Jacquette Holley of Niagara Falls. “I never heard of this part of town being shot, period. I mean, it's strange. It's crazy."
"I just think it's unfortunate,” said a Niagara Falls resident. “He was young, and no one should go through that. One day you're here, the next day you're not."
Police believe an argument led to the shooting.
Officers discovered 30-year-old William Reilly of Niagara Falls in the home with two gunshot wounds to the upper body. Reilly was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he later died.
Investigators said they have arrested the suspected gunmen 18-year-old Darrell Jermaine Belton of Niagara Falls. However, the suspect they believe was driving the getaway car has yet to be found.
"We had some assistance from the Niagara County Sheriff's department as well as the U.S. Marshals task force,” said Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto. “I think the combined effort along with our criminal investigation bureau, led to a quick apprehension of the suspect in this case."
Immediate neighbors did not want to go on camera, but said it's a quite place to live. Other residents in the area agreed.
"This is, maybe once or twice I've heard of anything like this happening here.
Fights, yes, but not murderers," said Sam Baiera of Niagara Falls.
One resident was in disbelief.
"There's a lot of school children; there's a library people go to; people eat here at the diner,” she said. “Who would suspect that would happen in this area?"
Niagara Falls resident James Miller had a different opinion.
"You've got people doing drugs, popping pills, stealing money, killing people, yet, the neighborhood looks quiet. That's because it's daytime, but at night, it comes alive," Miller said.
As the investigation continues, so does the search for the second suspect. Police hope to have an arrest soon.
They said Belton is facing charges of murder in the second degree and criminal use of a firearm in the first degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Niagara Falls City Court Thursday morning.

As I’ve earlier reported, the city of Seattle has been under siege for over a decade by its black population, which is only 7.7% of the city’s residents.
At around 6:20 of the video below, my “son” Colin says that the unreporting of crime has been reported by journalists in several cities, but “nobody’s connecting the dots” nationally. As he well knows, I’ve been connecting the dots since at least 2004. Otherwise, the video is excellent.

Drum roll…..the long awaited GOP principles on illegal immigration were presented today to the House GOP Conference at their annual [aptly-named] retreat. Sorry to disappoint you but there is nothing new under the sun. Their framework is a mirror image of the Senate “Gang of 8” bill, albeit cloaked in even more deceptive and disingenuous language in order to distract conservatives with shiny objects. Let’s go through some of the text:
After proposing broad amnesty, the document says that” none of this can happen before specific enforcement triggers have been implemented.” That might sound like it was written by the Tea Party, but in reality every GOP leader has made it clear that enforcement triggers mean something ambiguous after the “probationary” legal status is granted.

Police: Arrest in Graham disappearance yields break in another case
By Mariano Castillo and Eliott McLaughlin,
Updated 3:43 PM EDT, Monday, September 29, 2014
CNN
(CNN) -- The arrest of Jesse Matthew -- the suspect in the disappearance of University of Virginia student
Hannah Graham -- has resulted in a "significant break" in the 2009 death of another young woman in the same area, police said.
Virginia State Police did not elaborate on the development into the investigation of the death of Morgan Harrington, only saying there is a "new forensic link."
Harrington, a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student, went missing after attending a Metallica concert in Charlottesville in October 2009. Her remains were found on a farm months later.
Matthew was being held in isolation in a Virginia jail cell, authorities said Saturday.
Authorities took Matthew to Charlottesville, Virginia, on Friday after he agreed not to fight extradition from Texas, where he had been taken into custody after police obtained a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday.
Where is Hannah Graham?
Investigators think he was the last person with Graham. He is charged with abduction with the intent to defile in the case, according to Charlottesville police.
Graham was last seen September 13 in an area of Charlottesville known as the Downtown Mall. Police have asked owners of large parcels of property in surrounding counties to search their land and report back.
Authorities are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of the 18-year-old, a second-year student the university.
Almost from the start, speculation was raised about the possibility of a connection between Graham's disappearance and Harrington's death.
"Certainly the question has arisen. It's certainly a legitimate question," Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo told reporters last week.
No arrests have been made in Harrington's case, and the cause of her death is still under investigation.
Matthew's father has said his son is not the type to hurt anyone.
"For a big man, he's as gentle as they come," Jesse Matthew Sr. told CNN affiliate WTVR. "The only thing I could see, him, maybe trying to give the girl a ride or help her out."
"To kill or hurt somebody, that's not my son."
Authorities found Matthew on a Galveston County beach after deputies got a call about a suspicious person camping there. A license plate check revealed he was wanted, CNN affiliate KPRC reported.
Matthew did not resist arrest, police said.
Mike Rodenberg, a vacationer who was fishing near the campsite when Matthew was arrested, said Matthew asked about why he was throwing some of his catch back.
"He seemed real nice. He was real soft-spoken," Rodenberg said. "(He) said he was down here from New Jersey and was looking for a job. I told him if I caught another redfish he could have it."
In addition to Graham's disappearance, Matthew also has been questioned in connection with an alleged sexual assault nearly 12 years ago.
According to a statement from Lynchburg police, a woman reported she was raped on the campus of Liberty University on October 17, 2002. Matthew was a student there for three years and played on the football team.
However, no charges were filed because the woman didn't want to go forward with the case, and investigators determined there wasn't enough evidence to arrest Matthew, said Michael Doucette, the commonwealth's attorney for Lynchburg.
Matthew told authorities that the woman consented, Doucette said, adding that there were no witnesses.

The superlatives you’ll see on the screen—they’re all true. My chief of research and I recently watched this masterpiece about war, cameraderie, and love again, and it lost nothing with a repeat viewing. When this picture was released, it was probably the greatest movie ever made. If it seems familiar, that’s only because King Vidor has been ripped off a million times.
Although the picture has long since gone into the public domain, I was recently shocked to discover that no one has uploaded it to Youtube.

We’re dealing with a pc sports writer (if you’ll pardon the redundancy) here. What, in the mind of such a creature, would justify a black athlete publicly cursing out a presumably white fan?

We may be in for some Ryan Leaf comparisons before all the leaves have fallen. “Jets QB Geno Smith fires agents because he wasn’t drafted 1st overall,” by John Morgan, Pats Fans, April 30, 2013.]

EAST RUTHERFORD -- Jets quarterback Geno Smith owned up to shouting "[Bleep] you!" at a heckler after Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Lions at MetLife Stadium.
The only known footage of Smith's outburst was captured by a CBS2 camera, and it aired a few minutes ago on WLNY, an independent station that serves as New York City's second CBS affiliate. What you see above is that footage as it aired on WLNY on Sunday night.
Smith, who was booed and who had to hear fans chant for his backup, Michael Vick, opened his postgame press conference by apologizing for what he said to the heckler. He told reporters he had aimed his ire at one fan in particular. What we don't know is what that fan said to prompt Smith to yell back.
Head coach Rex Ryan said afterward that Smith would start the Jets' next game. The 1-3 Jets play next Sunday at the Chargers in San Diego, which is about as far from their jeering home fans as they can possibly play.

Black Serial-Rapist (Child Rapist!)/Violent Crime Machine and Future Serial Killer, Dechavien Jabbar Parks, 24, Sentenced to Only 27 Years in Prison for Newest Rape and 2 Attempted Murder Convictions; Perp Asked for Leniency, So He Could be There for His Young Daughter; He Had “a Difficult Childhood,” and Made a “Mistake”; He Showed His Victims No Leniency
By A Reader from the Pacific Northwest
Yet another (does it ever end), black man in an attempted rape, fortunately thwarted but he nearly shot two women for fighting back. The actual crime happened over a year ago; this is the sentencing after the trial (wheels of justice are slow). This is a local crime, and I don't recall hearing anything about it when it happened, not surprising since the media sometimes outright ignores black crime of this nature. This POS also sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl, he was only 22 years old at the time of this attack and attempted murder so he didn't have a lot of years before this to have committed that child rape crime. He couldn't have spent much time in prison for it, I guess black men and child rape don't merit much jail.
He got sentenced to 27 years and is 24 years old, highly unlikely he'll serve anywhere near the full 27, so he'll be plenty young enough to rape more little girls when he gets out.
His defense lawyers says he had "a difficult childhood" (cue me the violins) but is an intelligent, creative young man (implying it's a waste for him to spend so many years in prison). Let me guess, he's an aspiring rapper, was just ready to turn his life around and god knows the world can't miss out on his "talent."
N.S.: Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that the 18-year-old rape victim and her mother (and possibly the six-year-old) were white?
Man who raped NE Portland teen in home, shot out her car window as she escaped, gets 27 years

A 24-year-old man who crept into the Northeast Portland home of an 18-year-old stranger, ripped out clumps of her hair and raped her -- then shot out the back window of her SUV as she escaped -- was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
Dechavien J. Parks, who was 22 at the time of the June 27, 2013, attack, entered the home through an open door and found the victim sleeping on a couch at about 5 a.m. He yanked a blanket off of her and pulled her by the hair. She ran to her upstairs bedroom, trying to fight him off as he slapped and choked her when she tried to scream.
He raped her before she was able to run to and wake her mother in another room.
She and her mother pushed Parks down the stairway then ran outside and into their car. Parks, however, grabbed onto the car and wouldn’t let go as the victim’s mother tried to pry him off. The victim began to drive and then slammed on the brakes, which caused Parks to tumble off.
Parks shot at the victim -- narrowly missing her head, authorities say -- as she drove past a stop sign near Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
Police found Parks in the area, and the victim identified him as her attacker.
Although the woman didn’t know Parks, he had been to her house earlier that day while she wasn’t home. Parks was friends with a relative of the victim’s, who had access to the house.
During trial in February, Parks didn’t present a substantial defense, calling only one witness. A jury found him guilty of a long list of counts, including attempted aggravated murder and first-degree rape.
Parks was sentenced during two hearings -- one last week and the other Wednesday -- in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
The victim’s mother attended the first hearing. She said her daughter, who did not want to come to the courthouse, has dropped out of school and is depressed all of the time.
Judge Christopher Marshall sentenced Dechavien Parks to 27 years in prison. Aimee Green/The Oregonian
“She wakes up in the morning and all she wants to do is go to sleep,” the mother said.
“I don’t believe that anybody should have to go through what she went through,” the mother continued. “She’s going to have to go through a lifetime of suffering with this.”
Deputy District Attorney Nicole Jergovic asked Judge Christopher Marshall to sentence Parks to more than 40 years.
“The defendant has earned it from this case alone,” Jergovic said, noting the vicious nature of Parks’ most recent crime and a previous conviction for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
“These are some of the most violent crimes that the defendant could have committed against anybody,” Jergovic said. “Clearly at this point he is a serial sexual offender.”
Defense attorney Christian Day asked for 15 years.
Day said Parks had a difficult childhood but was an “intelligent, creative young man."
Parks stood up, turned to the victim’s mother and said he made a mistake.
“I apologize for that,” Parks said. “It’s traumatizing. It’s traumatic.” [Traumatic for whom?]
Parks then turned to the judge and asked for leniency, saying he has a young daughter whom he won’t get to see grow up.
The judge, however, sentenced Parks to 27 years, saying his crimes were "horrific."
“It’s clear we need to have you removed from the community for a very long time,” Marshall said. “It just needs to happen.”

Madonna Ciccone, Yoko Ono, and Other “Artists”
Re: “Why is Modern Art So Bad?”
By Jerry
With the emergence of mass consumerism and technology to enhance, “singers” could be the most pretentious and untalented “artists” we have. Fabian is an early example of this. Then we had Yoko Ono as an example of a “musical artist” by association. She had previously had some notoriety as an “avant garde performance artist,” an extremely subjective form of art, if there ever was one, but somehow, simply due to having sex with a truly great songwriter, has put out albums and written songs with no discernable musical talent whatsoever.
Then we had the emergence of Madonna, a poor singer and dancer who wrote “lyrics” (bad poetry), and had them set to music by real songwriters. Her talents may have been modest but she knew how to promote, she had sex with black men, and flaunted it publicly toward white men (presaging the even less talented Kardashians), used lesbianism as another marketing tool, and another way of taunting men in general. The public, however, bought what she was selling, which just shows there is truth in the saying, “You can't underestimate the public's taste,” or maybe it should be its intelligence.
Above and below: Jean Harlow-imitator Marilyn Monroe and Monroe-imitator, Madonna Ciccone (thanks to Anti-Madonna, which has lots more)
N.S.: The last time I saw or heard anything new from Madonna Ciccone, it was a video about ten years ago. In it, she was sitting on the back seat of a limousine, wearing a ten-gallon hat and a short skirt, between two black men she was cavorting with. Nothing sexual was going on, but Ciccone clearly sought to give the impression that she was part of an interracial menage a trois. The “song” was so forgettable that even while she was singing, I couldn’t recall the notes or lyrics from five seconds earlier. As Jerry noted, the whole selling point of the “song,” was that she was having sex with black men.
And yet, I find her devoid of sex appeal.
In September 1985, Playboy and Penthouse both published nude pics of Ciccone taken by professional photographers in 1978, when she was a dark-haired unknown of 19 or 20. She wasn’t a great looker, but she had a beautiful bosom, and her shape was her own. (I didn’t buy it, but I looked at the pics in one magazine at a newstand. I could have sworn that was several years later, but Google entries say otherwise.)
In 1992, Ciccone put out a photo book called Sex. If memory serves, it was sold in a wrapper, so you couldn’t look at the pictures without paying, but some photos were published somewhere as a promotion, and I found her distinctly unerotic. She was posing with dogs and/or in staged bondage, or something.

In New York City, Racist, Communist Bill deBlasio’s Racial Purge Continues: Fire Department Hires Incompetent Blacks, and then Supports Their Harassment of White Firemen, and Violation of Latter’s First Amendment Rights
Re-posted by Nicholas Stix
The Vulcan Society is a racially segregated organization that is comprised of incompetent black supremacists who have been politically hired by the FDNY, thanks to two racial socialists: Federal judge Nicholas Garaufis, who has lied for years about the FDNY’s exam and hiring practices, and Mayor Bill Wilhelm deBlasio.
Vulcan, Graufis, and deBlasio are dedicated to racially cleansing the FDNY of white firemen, eliminating merit as a hiring factor, and silencing any whites who oppose them.
Firefighter scorched over T-shirt smashing affirmative action
By Michael Gartland
September 12, 2014 | 9:11p.m.
New York Post
A veteran smoke eater is in hot water over his choice to wear a T-shirt promoting the Merit Matters group that opposes changes to the department's entrance exam.
The FDNY is hosing one of its own for wearing an ¬anti-affirmative-action T-shirt — just a week after Mayor de Blasio told city employees it’s up to them how they dress at work.
Thomas Buttaro, a 12-year FDNY veteran who works at Ladder 123 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, faces disciplinary charges for wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with a “Merit Matters” logo while on duty.
“They’re disciplining him for something they’ve never disciplined anyone for before,” said Buttaro’s lawyer, Adam Weiss. “It’s a First Amendment issue. This is about the right of someone being able to express an opinion. It’s not about discrimination.”
Buttaro, who is white, got into hot water in May 2012 after he and a black colleague argued over a lawsuit filed years earlier by the Vulcan Society, Weiss said.
The Vulcans, a fraternal group of black firefighters, won a discrimination lawsuit last March that resulted in a $100 million settlement to minorities after the FDNY entrance exam was ruled biased.
Merit Matters — self-described as “an advocacy group dedicated to preserving merit in FDNY testing” — is opposed to changing the admissions process to give minorities a leg up over white recruits.
Buttaro believes he was within his rights to wear the T-shirt.
“[The other firefighter] was talking about the lawsuit. My client said something to the effect of ‘Stop whining,’ and [was told], ‘I don’t like your shirt,’ ” Weiss said. “He [his colleague] filed a complaint a week or two later.”
The FDNY didn’t bring charges until September 2013, said Weiss.
A week ago, de Blasio said teachers were within their rights to wear NYPD T-shirts in school to support cops following a teachers-union-backed protest against police brutality on Staten Island.
“How you should comport yourself at your workplace, and the individual choice you make — that’s up to the individual,” the mayor said at the time.
A de Blasio spokesman and the FDNY declined to comment on Buttaro’s case.
The Vulcans did not return calls.
An FDNY source noted the department has stricter rules than the school system because it’s structured along paramilitary lines.
“We have rules about what you can wear in the firehouse,” the insider said. “We’re a uniformed agency. You can’t wear this in the firehouse. Our lawyers are going to argue that this was intentional and designed to antagonize a colleague.”
The source also claimed Buttaro wore other, more offensive shirts, but Weiss says he only wore them off duty, including one which says, “MADD: Minorities Against Dumbing Down” and “getting it the old fashioned way — earning it.”

Fresno couple charged in stabbing death of woman during an argument over their pets
A Fresno woman has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a neighbor, allegedly during a dispute over their pets.
Laquandra Ligons, 27, was charged with murder in the death of 56-year-old Mary Lara, while her husband, 31-year-old Thurman Ligons, was charged with acting as an accessory to murder, Fresno Police Sgt. Dave Ramos said. The couple were arrested Sunday.
While walking her pitbull at night, Laquandra Ligons argued with Lara in front of Lara's home in the 1300 block of North Eighth Street, Ramos said. Lara was apparently afraid the dog would attack her cats, which were in the front yard, police said.
The argument quickly escalated, and Lara was stabbed several times, according to authorities.
Police found Lara lying wounded in her front yard. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

By Dean Esmay
I have had a Wikipedia editing account for about 11 years. I have thousands of edits in. Over the years my edits grew more and more sporadic, the last ones being an attempt to give a fair entry on a publication I volunteer on (including lots of direct links to direct criticisms of it). Even that was subject to vandalism and ideological thuggery. I gave up. I've seen this time and time again in too many subject areas not even personal to me or that I have no real interest in: anonymous ideological thugs rule Wikipedia now. The project I loved when it started more than a decade now has fallen apart, not due to the fact that any idiot can edit it -- that tends to be a self-correcting problem -- but due to the fact that ideological thugs with an agenda can control a subject area and ruthlessly suppress all meaningful dissent. And they get away with it anonymously, making them fundamentally unaccountable.
ActualModerateConservative to Dean Esmay
But YOUR changes have always been impeccably free of ideological scent and have been purely about getting the facts right.
Okay then.
Hey, maybe you are right, but I tend to be skeptical about any account such as this where the writer is as pure as the driven snow and everyone else are "ideological thugs".
Dean Esmay to ActualModerateConservative
That's a dodge, a cop-out. and a cheap shot all at once. I do NOT think I am impeccably free of ideological slant. I strive hard to get the facts right and to stick to them, but just like in the original Wikipedia spirit (now dead in too many areas to count) I also strive to work diligently with anyone who raises an objection or sees a problem, or to even undo my own errors when I make them.
The ideological thuggery and bullying I speak of is something I have experienced LESS than a number of Wikipedians I have known, or just watched on the sidelines as a neutral party, on multiple subjects.
Because of this commonplace, everyday ideological bullying behind the scenes that I have witnessed happening to multiple people on multiple subjects, my Wikipedia editor account now lies mostly-dormant. As someone else said, the only thing Wikipedia is trustworthy on at all anymore is basic facts on things like movies and TV shows and musical bands, and even then I've seen it creep in.
There are ways for Wikipedia to clean house, and no, that does NOT entail doing everything my way or letting my view predominate on any subject. Indeed, your response is the cop-out that the bullies always use, going right to personally attacking anyone who dares question the ones in charge about their methods and their attitude.
Wikipedia is not to be trusted, and it's not because they don't agree with me. It's because multiple cliques with power have formed who monopolize and censor and use wikilawyering excuses to get away with it.
ActualModerateConservative to Dean Esmay
Ah yes, the "bullying" charge that curiously enough only came into vogue around places like this as a charge when it became a hot topic in the meainstream.
[Bull. I’ve been exposing The Pretend Encylopedia on the ‘Net since 2008 (see link at the top), and was exposing it on Wikipedia already in 2006.]
Funny, that.
The reality is that there is nothing the far right enjoys more than using a charge that they perceive as a standard "liberal" tactic and throwng it back in their face by using it against them. It is just so silly, as if there was a big game going on somewhere on the internet where everyone is scoring points.
Regarding your claim of ad hominem attacks in your other post, I take it that your blanket statements about unnamed wikipedia editors and references to ideological bullies do not count as "ad hominem" attacks in their own right. If you don't think they do, then you may wish to seek a clearer understanding of the term "ad hominem".
Look, I don't have a lot invested in Wikipedia. I use it like everyone else and understand its limitations in the same way as any semi-sensible, reasonably educated person knows. The VAST majority of articles that they publish have no political leaning one way or the other. People on the extreme ends of the political spectrum see veiled politicl statements everywhere, in the same way as they see conspiracies everywhere. It is an inevitable byproduct of extremist thought. I am not saying that you are extremist; heck, I don't know you from Adam. I'm just making some suggestions for others to think about when reading your post. I appreciate your need to defend yourself. The world trudges on.
Dean Esmay to ActualModerateConservative
I've actually been talking and commenting about the lockstep bullying, groupthink, and censorship on Wikipedia for a few years. By the way, I voted for Obama, how "far right" can I be?
Why not return to the discussion rather than making it about you trying to mindread others' motives?
And ad hom would be attacking specific editors and inviting you and others to fight over that person. Which would also be a good way to get away from what's really at issue: the systemic corruption.
Dean Esmay to ActualModerateConservative
Um, no. In fact, your sarcastic response is typical of the type of ideological bullying I'm talking about: going straight to ad hom assertions about the motives of those questioning the system instead of addressing the issues.
In the original Wiki spirit, I strive hard to be neutral and fact-based, but I also work hard to work with others who think I may be wrong, or may have lost the plot, or injected too much of my own views in, and even to correct my own errors when I make them (which I do).
The ideological thuggery I speak of is something I have actually experienced LESS than others I have seen, some of whom I have known and some of whom I have just watched on the sidelines while I did simple things like fix punctuation or grammer (I have tons of such edits).
This problem with using wikilawyering tactics and ad hom reasoning by those in charge of the pages is something I have watched over the years get worse and worse in multiple subject areas, may of which I have no vested interest in at all.
You know, you can rarely fix a problem that you won't acknowledge exists.

Poetic justice. White South African “director” Brett Bailey is a citizen in a nation in which his race is currently being slaughtered by blacks in a slow-motion genocide. So, does he portray that very real, murderous, current racism? Hardly. Instead, he calls himself an “anti-racist,” and sucks up to racist blacks, who themselves support genocide against whites. The genocidal, racist blacks then responded to Bailey’s obsequiousness by violently shutting down his show. That's consistent "anti-racism," for you.
Exhibit B 'human zoo' show cancelled by the Barbican following campaigner protest
The show, directed by white South African Brett Bailey, has been cancelled following concerns about an 'extreme' protest outside the Barbican
By Daisy Wyatt
Wednesday 24 September 2014
Independent
The Barbican has cancelled its controversial art show Exhibit B following a disturbance [violent, racist assault] during a protest outside the arts centre last night.
Directed by white South African director Brett Bailey, the installation, which features black actors in chains recreating “human zoos”, has been called racist by protestors who have marched in opposition to the show.
[Directed by a director, was it? What about artists contributing to an alleged art show?]
The Barbican issued a statement to say the exhibition’s five-day run had been called off following an incident during a protest last night.
The Metropolitan Police was called to the scene after reports of a fight [attack] during the demonstration but no arrests were made.
[I.e., the black attacker got yet another freebie!]
The Barbican said it was “the extreme nature of the protest” outside the venue on Tuesday that led to the cancellation of the exhibition.
[A little ultra-violence? How could the violence be so extreme, without the attacker being arrested?]
It said: “We find it profoundly troubling that such methods have been used to silence artists and performers and that audiences have been denied the opportunity to see this important work.”
[But not so troubling that they are going to resist them. Then again, there were no “artists” being silenced.]
The venue has been under pressure to withdraw the show after an online petition attracted more than 20,000 signatures urging the Barbican to cancel the exhibition’s run.
The petition called the show “an outrageous act of complicit racism”.
“We are deeply offended yet not surprised that the colonialism this piece purports to expose does nothing more than reinforce how effective it was and remains as a caging instrument of white supremacists,” the petition said.
[“Caging instrument”? So, they’re as pedantic as they are violent.]
“We charge the Barbican with exhibiting institutional racism for agreeing to stage this poison.”
In response, the Barbican said it is “categorically not neutral on the subject of racism” and that the show was aimed as a critique of human zoos.
“We state categorically that the Barbican is not neutral on the subject of racism; we are totally opposed to it and could not present a work that supported it,” it said in a statement.
“Instead, Exhibit B raises, in a serious and responsible manner, issues about racism. It aims to conform to [?] objectification of human beings and the abhorrent historical attitudes to race during the colonial era, and to question how far society has moved on."
