Mike Adams: Obama’s a Phony, but He’s a Real Phony

Our Faked Society

They claim the (U.S. President’s) birth certificate document is a fake. Why does that matter? But, of course, the document is a fake. It’s not “merely” fake; it’s so fake that the whole thing has become an IQ test for figuring out how many people can be so easily fooled by a fake.

But, I ask the far more important question: Does it matter that it’s a fake in the first place?

Given that most of the U.S. government’s job statistics are fake, and that the U.S. dollar is being counterfeited on a daily basis by the Fed, and that virtually the entire U.S. economy is built on fake “abundance” that’s really just more debt spending… isn’t it is some way actually more authentic to have a President at the helm who faked his birth certificate?

It’s almost like he’s more qualified for the job, you see, running the fake economy with fake dollars while the mainstream media (MSM) distributes all the fake news. And then in between the fake news bits, the advertisers come on and promote their fake foods, and fake pharmaceuticals which are approved based on faked science approved by FDA regulators who are faking it, too.

Couples are now artificially fertilized (fake conception!), and when their children are born, they feed them fake milk (infant formula). They grow up on fake sweeteners and fake (artificial) colors. In school, they’re taught fake U.S. history so that they have fake ideas of how the world really works. When they’re old enough, they get to participate in faked voting schemes where the winners are already determined.

And thanks to the internet, we live in a world of fake friends, fake emotions and fake sex. Football games are played on fake grass, and today’s “reality” TV shows are all faked, too. Professional wrestling is fake (but MMA isn’t), and most of the news consumed by the masses is entirely fabricated. Even the science behind most of modern medicine is faked, fabricated or twisted around in order to get the results the drug companies want to see.

And oh yeah, the drugs are faked, too, especially the antidepressants which appear to work only because of the Placebo Effect — which is real, even though it only exists in the mind.

We need more leaders who embrace fakery.

For the most part, we are fake people living in a fake world engaged in fake interactions. So why shouldn’t we have a fake President with a fake birth certificate to top it all off?

I don’t know what the problem is here with the obviously fake birth certificate. Of course, it’s a fake. But isn’t that what we vote for when we vote for any president? After all, presidential election campaigns are all about making fake promises uttered with fake smiles as part of faked speeches that are actually written by somebody else and read on the teleprompter.

In fact, I would argue that Obama’s faked birth certificate makes him more authentic than any other President in American history. It is precisely this mastery of fakery that has allowed Obama to deliver fake health care reform, faked world peace (new war on Libya!), and faked preparedness (radioactive fallout from Fukushima? Don’t prepare!)

It’s perfect for a nation of fake people who live in fake houses with the fake stonework plastered onto the front to make them look as if they were built out of stone. The people go get their cosmetic surgery and botox (faked youth!) so they can meet new fake people and pursue their fake relationships with faked orgasms. Their profiles on Facebook are completely faked; their resumes handed in at prospective employers are faked; and even their apparent “wealth” is faked because they’re neck-deep in debt on that luxury car parked in the driveway of the luxury house they can’t afford.

At work, they fake like they’re getting something done so that they can receive a paycheck that’s also largely faked because it’s denominated in fake dollars which are deposited in a fake (electronic) bank account so that the money can be multiplied and leveraged in order for the bank to keep creating more fake currency in the form of loans handed out to people who faked their credit history and lied on their loan applications. But who cares? As long as we all fake it together, the system works!

So we go shopping with our fake money, and we buy fake “fashion” jeans with fake holes already pre-fabricated right into the pant legs, then purchase our colognes and perfumes made with fake chemical fragrances that try to put a fake smell on our bodies so that we can meet other fake people who wear their own faked chemical smells to try to fool us into thinking they smell like fresh flowers and honey when, in reality, they stink like a country goat.

They use cosmetics to fake their skin health, and hair implants to fake their hair growth. Young girls are wearing fake contact lenses to fake their pupil dilation as fakes sign of faked sexual arousal. This is designed to get a rise out of their fake date partner who takes them to a fake restaurant to order fake food grown from fake (GMO) seeds and fertilizers with fake soils (made out of composted human sewage) which is contaminated with fake hormones (HRT drugs) and other drugs.

And the next morning they’ll wake up and share a bowl of faked blueberries in their faked breakfast cereals. Those have been faked, too, as shown in my video, “The Blueberry Deception.” (www.ConsumerWellness.org)

Authentic leaders would fail.

In fact, the whole matrix in which we live today is so universally faked and fabricated that I’m not sure that an authentic, genuine human being would even have a chance at leading the nation. We need fake Presidents to lead our fake nation into fake economic abundance, so all those “birthers” screaming about the faked birth certificate should frankly just shut up and eat their fake ham sandwiches made with that faked processed cheese food-like substance squeezed between two pieces of fake white bread.

Stop complaining and watch your fake “reality” TV shows, listen to the fake news, work at your fake government job and keep swallowing fake food so that you can become a highly profitable patient in our faked health care system based on faked science and run by fake researchers. This is how the system works today. Reality has nothing to do with it, and you should abandon any such bizarre ideas. They’re unpatriotic.

In fact, the release of Obama’s birth certificate, with all its layers and Photoshop edits and mismatched numbers that were obviously assembled from multiple sources is not an admission of fakery — it’s a proud statement of authenticity! It says that our President is perfectly in tune with the faked society over which he presides. That’s what we need in America today; a genuine man of the People.

After all, only a true fake can achieve the level of fakery required in our world to be embraced as authentic.

And today, I bow down to the master of fakery; the man who is so authentic in his fakiness that he has released the world’s first authentic counterfeit birth certificate, proudly assembled from layers that would be widely considered faked by anyone who wasn’t sufficiently psychologically invested in the real world, by which I mean our faked society.

From here forward, I think we should all just start faking it.

Reality –after all– is overrated.

This will come as a shock to many of my readers, but there was a time when the New York Times on occasion engaged in serious, legitimate journalism on matters of race. The Tawana Brawley Hoax was one such occasion, at least late in the game.

Keep in mind that this was during 1987-1988. In 1992, communist Arthur P. “Pinch” Sulzberger inherited the role of publisher from his father and namesake, and declared that “diversity” was Job One at the Times. Diversity and truth cannot co-exist, and so truth had to go.

Evidence Points to Deceit by Brawley
Published: September 27, 1988
New York Times

A seven-month New York State grand jury inquiry has compiled overwhelming evidence that Tawana Brawley fabricated her story of abduction and sexual abuse by a gang of racist white men last year, according to investigators, witnesses and official summaries of evidence presented to the panel.

These summaries say the evidence - testimony by more than 100 witnesses and a mass of exhibits ranging from confidential medical and police reports to secretly taped telephone conversations -has led investigators to these conclusions:

* That the black teen-ager, on the night of Nov. 24, decided not to return to her home in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and, during much of her ensuing four-day disappearance, hid out in a nearby vacant apartment, from which her family had recently been evicted.

* That she concocted, alone or with an accomplice, the degrading condition in which she was found -by smearing herself with dog feces, writing racial slurs on her body, tearing and scorching her clothes, crawling into a garbage bag and pretending to be in a traumatized daze.

* That she tried for weeks to mislead doctors, social workers, the police, reporters and concerned community people with a charade of medical complaints and false and fragmentary accounts of horror in the hands of racists - a tale luridly embellished by her family, lawyers and advisers - and that she has since refused to cooperate in order to cover up her actions. She has since left the state. Miss Brawley's motives are still unclear because she refused to testify before the grand jury. But evidence suggested that she may have feared the wrath of her mother's boyfriend for her late nights out and that drugs and her relationships with shady characters may have played a role.

Investigators say the grand jury will not indict anyone, and under the law it is not permitted to criticize ordinary citizens that it does not indict. So it will not criticize Miss Brawley or members of her family, even though they refused to cooperate and the findings raise questions about the Brawleys' conduct.

Much of what happened remains obscure; but hundreds of pieces of the puzzle - details as tiny as a dog hair, as trivial as a wad of cotton-like material cut from a boot lining, and as telling as an eyewitness glimpse of the ''missing'' girl - have given the larger picture a rough clarity.

National Symbol of Racism

Thus it appears that a case that became a national symbol of racism, that mired the state's highest officials in political quicksand, that stymied law-enforcement authorities for nearly 10 months and inflamed racial passions in New York, originated as little more than the fantasy of a troubled teen-ager, and became grist for the racial and political agendas of her advisers.

The Brawley lawyers, Alton H. Maddox Jr. and C. Vernon Mason, along with the family's key adviser, the Rev. Al Sharpton, entered the case within days of the 16-year-old girl's reappearance. Since then, they have advised the family not to cooperate, repeatedly accused the state of a coverup, leveled charges without proof against law-enforcement officials and attacked public officials, news organizations and others who challenged their actions and accounts.

In periodic articles this year, The New York Times reported extensively on Miss Brawley's account and those of her lawyers and advisers, detailing gaps and contradictions in her story and examining the alibis of several law-enforcement officials implicated by Miss Brawley's advisers in the supposed attack.

The grand jury, now in the last stages of one of the most exhaustive investigations ever carried out in New York State, is expected to issue a final report within a few weeks, saying that it has found no evidence of any abduction, racial or sexual attack or any other crime against Miss Brawley.

A Move to Virginia

With her family, she moved last week to an apartment in Virginia Beach, Va., where she is attending high school. They have refused to comment on the case recently and yesterday could not be reached for comment. They have an unlisted telephone number. Miss Brawley's mother, Glenda, defied a subpoena in June and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but she took refuge in churches, and the sentence has not been enforced.

The special state grand jury sitting in Poughkeepsie completed its report last Friday and sent it on to State Supreme Court Justice Angelo J. Ingrassia, who will review it before authorizing its release.

The report is not expected to comment on the tactics of the Brawley advisers, but the special prosecutor, Attorney General Robert Abrams, has said he will file a separate complaint against the lawyers with the state's Appellate Divisions when the grand jury report is released. Mr. Abrams's spokesman, Timothy M. Gilles, said yesterday that he would have no comment on the case.

Investigators say the grand jury will specifically clear Steven A. Pagones, a Dutchess County assistant prosecutor, and by extension will also clear other law-enforcement officials whom the Brawley advisers have accused of involvement in an attack.

Summaries of the Evidence

The outline of the grand jury's findings has been sketched in a series of summaries of the evidence compiled by Mr. Abrams's staff. The summaries are not minutes of the proceedings but narrations of the evidence gathered by investigators and presented to the grand jury, detailing exhibits entered into the record and quoting or paraphrasing the testimony of witnesses.

Not all the material in the summaries was presented to the grand jury; nor was all the panel's evidence put into the final report, especially because of the restrictions on criticizing private citizens like Miss Brawley.

The grand jury, the second to sit in the case, was impaneled last Feb. 29 and is scheduled to end its work Oct. 7, though its life could be extended if that were deemed necessary.

The Times obtained evidence summaries compiled in June and July. The latter summary, dated July 14, contained all material presented to the grand jury by then and was the last compiled; there were no summaries compiled in August or September.

Only two major items of evidence are believed to have been presented to the grand jury since July. One was testimony by Mr. Pagones; he has often denied the allegations publicly, and he did so again before the panel. Up to 60 people were available to vouch for his whereabouts during the four days that Miss Brawley was missing, but the testimony of all was not required.

Pagones Testimony Crucial

Since a grand jury can only issue indict-ments or reports clearing or criticizing public officials, or recommending legislative reforms, the Pagones testimony was crucial because it gave the panel a justification for issuing a report on the Brawley case. Otherwise, despite all its work, it might not have been able to act at all, because it found no evidence of a crime or need for legislative reform.

The second item of evidence believed to have been presented since July, investigators say, is a series of laboratory reports from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that tie Miss Brawley to the writing of the racial slurs found on her body. Details of these reports could not be learned. The facts of the case, briefly, are these: Miss Brawley, then 15, skipped school last Nov. 24, a Tuesday, and visited a former boyfriend, Todd Buxton, in the Orange County Jail at Goshen. Mr. Buxton's mother, Geneva, went to the jail with her. Afterward, Miss Brawley spent the early evening with Mrs. Buxton at the Buxton home in Newburgh. Miss Brawley then took a bus to Wappingers Falls, got off about 8:40 P.M. on Route 9 near Myers Corners Road and vanished.

Crawling Into a Bag

Four days later, about 1:30 P.M. on Nov. 28, a Saturday, she was seen crawling into a large green plastic garbage bag on the lawn outside her family's former apartment at the Pavillion Condominiums in the Town of Wappinger. An ambulance crew and the police found her smeared with feces and seemingly dazed; her jeans were torn and scorched; racial slurs, including ''Nigger'' and ''KKK,'' had been written on her body.

In three subsequent interviews, in which Miss Brawley said almost nothing but only nodded or shook her head or wrote notes in response to leading questions, she conveyed that when she got off the bus she had been abducted by two white men in a dark car who took her to a woods, where other white men were waiting.

She indicated that she was sexually abused by the men but could recall little about the experience or the assailants - except that one had dirty blond hair, a police-type badge and a holster. She also could recall nothing that happened to her in the next four days until she found herself in the hospital.

The conclusion that Miss Brawley fabricated her story is supported by the summaries in three general areas: evidence that she ran away and spent much of the next four days at her former apartment, evidence that she concocted the condition in which she was found, and evidence that she tried to mislead the police, doctors and others about what had happened to her.

Evidence of Running Away; Tale of Trouble At Home

While the grand jury found no evidence of an abduction, it uncovered ample indications that Miss Brawley, on the night she disappeared, was reluctant to go home, and it gathered considerable evidence that she had substantial motives for running away, the summaries show.

Her reluctance to go home was evident almost as soon as she and Geneva Buxton, after the trip to the jail, arrived back at the Buxton apartment at 5:25 P.M. The grand jury was told that Miss Brawley made no effort to catch a 6 P.M. bus home to Wappingers Falls and seemed disinclined to catch the next one at 8 P.M.

She told Mrs. Buxton she was ''in trouble'' with Ralph King, her mother's live-in companion, for staying out until 5 A.M. the previous Saturday; she said Mr. King had been scolding her for days. Skipping school - as she had before - had only made matters worse.

Not only did she appear reluctant to go home that night; as Mrs. Buxton told The Times earlier this year, Miss Brawley said she wanted to leave home permanently, and spoke of getting a job as a model, and of taking an apartment with Todd Buxton when he got out of jail.

King 'Would Kill You'

Mrs. Buxton offered her the couch for the night, but urged her to go home; she did not want to stir up trouble in the Brawley household. She knew the girl had run away before. Miss Brawley finally left, catching the 8 P.M. Short Line bus. On board, a passenger, Thomas Barnes, ''initiated a conversation with Tawana and found her to be friendly,'' investigators said. But the bus driver, Todd McGue, who knew Miss Brawley because Ralph King was a fellow Short Line driver, ''warned Barnes not to talk to Tawana because she was Ralph King's stepdaughter and King would 'kill you.' ''

Mr. Barnes got off in Fishkill, south of Wappingers Falls.

Mr. King, in fact, had a history of violence, the summaries noted. In 1969 he stabbed his wife 14 times and, while awaiting trial in 1970, shot and killed her. He served seven years in jail. The Poughkeepsie police said he ''regularly associated with alcoholics and addicts'' and ''had been involved in numerous fights over the past few years,'' the summaries said. After the case brought his criminal record to light, he was dismissed from his job as a bus driver for misrepresenting his record on an employment application.

Tales of Violent Quarrels

Investigators also were told that Mr. King sometimes carried a gun and sold drugs. Nine sources, including neighbors and police officials, told the grand jury of violent quarrels in the King-Brawley household, both at the Pavillion Condominiums and at Leewood Arms, the apartment complex where they moved in November; some of those fights necessitated calls to the police.

Glenda Brawley had beaten her daughter for running away and spending nights with boys, investigators were told. And there were numerous reports of fights specifically between Mr. King and Miss Brawley. When she was arrested on shoplifting charges the previous May, the police had to intervene to prevent Mr. King from beating her at a police station.

The grand jury also heard testimony of strains between Miss Brawley and Mr. King. One witness said Mr. King ''would watch her exercise'' and talked about the girl ''in a real sexual way,'' sometimes describing her as a ''fine fox.'' Another witness said Miss Brawley referred to Mr. King as a ''filthy pervert.'' But yet another witness said Miss Brawley described Mr. King as ''nice.''

Evidence before the grand jury indicated that Miss Brawley decided abruptly not to go home that night. As her bus headed north on Route 9, Miss Brawley, according to Mr. McGue, suddenly asked the driver to let her off at Myers Corners Road, a mile from home.

Mr. McGue, who said he had not taken a road closer to her home because he had a Poughkeepsie passenger, said he urged her to call home from a pay phone and have someone pick her up. ''Tawana told McGue that she could not call her home because the phone was not yet connected,'' the summaries said. ''However, telephone service was turned on Nov. 20'' - four days earlier -at the new King-Brawley apartment, and investigators said she had used it.

While the grand jury has all but ended its inquiry, investigators are continuing to explore whether Miss Brawley, in fact, got off the bus at Myers Corners Road, or continued on. One report said Miss Brawley was seen during her disappearance in a red car with black rear-window louvres; investigators later learned that Mr. McGue has such a car. Mr. McGue, in an interview, told The Times that his accounts to authorities were accurate, but that he declined to take a polygraph test because he did not have faith in them.

Evidence of Hiding Soiled Jacket And 'KKK' on Shoe

There appears to be little question that Miss Brawley spent part of the next four days in the vacant apartment at the Pavillion, from which her family had moved on Nov. 15 for non-payment of the rent. The one-bedroom apartment, 19A on the ground floor of a unit called the Carnaby, was carpeted but empty of furnishings and still had heat and electricity.

The Brawley family had kept a key, and Miss Brawley may have taken it to get in, but access was no problem, even if Miss Brawley had no key, because, the investigators found, ''it was impossible to lock one window.'' The police found the doors of the apartment unlocked when, after finding the girl, they first went in to investigate on Nov. 28.

There were many indications that she had been in the apartment. An acid-washed denim jacket she had been wearing when she vanished was found inside in a washing machine; feces like those found on Miss Brawley were on the jacket. Residues of burned clothing, similar to the scorched jeans she was wearing when found, were also discovered in the apartment. One pink slip-on shoe she was wearing had ''KKK'' carved in the toe; a razor blade that could have been used to cut these initials was found in the apartment.

The heat was on in the apartment. The temperatures all week had been frosty, dipping into the low 30's each night. And though no evidence was found that meals had been eaten in the apartment around that time, the refrigerator was turned on and inside it there was a little milk in a carton.

Light on 'for Days'

The grand jury learned that Gaston Abril, the resident next door at 19B Carnaby, heard a door slam at 7 A.M. on Nov. 24 or 25, and saw a light inside the former Brawley apartment for ''quite a few days'' after Miss Brawley vanished. His wife, Elizabeth Abril, saw a light in the former Brawley flat on Nov. 24 or 25.

On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, sometime between 7:30 and 8:30 A.M., Frank Backer, a resident of 14A Scarborough Lane, directly behind the former Brawley apartment, looked out his rear window and saw a young black woman, apparently Miss Brawley, sneak up and enter 19A through a sliding glass rear door. She wore an acid-washed denim jacket, her hair was matted and she acted suspiciously, crouching and looking about as if she did not want to be seen.

On Friday, Nov. 27, after being away for Thanksgiving, the Abrils noticed that a pair of recently purchased white boots and a pair of jeans belonging to Mrs. Abril were missing from their apartment. It was unclear how these were stolen; there were no signs of a break-in.

After Miss Brawley was found, these boots and jeans were found in the former Brawley apartment next door; segments of the cotton-like synthetic lining of the boots had been cut out, and segments like these - later discarded at the hospital before their significance was clear - were found wadded into Miss Brawley's ears and nostrils, apparently to protect her from infection by the feces that had been smeared on her.

Loud Music Heard

At 9:30 A.M. on Friday, Nov. 27, Mr. Abril heard loud music coming from either 19A or 19D upstairs, the grand jury was told. Further inquiry showed it had to have came from 19A, the Brawley flat. The resident of 19D, above Mr. Abril, ''did not play any loud music during November or have any visitors on Nov. 27 or 28,'' the summaries said, and the flat above 19A was vacant throughout November. The walls of the complex are extremely thin, and even slight sounds may be heard between apartments.

Investigators said they found crushed marijuana and hashish residues in a bottle cap. Residues of marijuana were also found in the stove drip pans. No evidence of drugs was found in medical examinations of Miss Brawley. The consensus among her friends was that she did not regularly use drugs, but investigators were told by several witnesses that Miss Brawley smoked marijuana and had access to drugs.

In the weeks before her disappearance, Miss Brawley's social life had turned increasingly toward Newburgh, five miles south and across the Hudson River from Wappingers Falls, investigators and other witnesses told the grand jury.

Aside from her involvement with Todd Buxton and his family, ''Tawana had been in Newburgh on other occasions when she stayed overnight with friends,'' the summaries said. And during the time she was missing, her family searched for her mostly on the drug-infested streets of Newburgh.

The Notorious "Mickey Carlton"

There were numerous reports that Miss Brawley was seen in Newburgh during her disappearance, specifically on a street buying drugs on Nov. 26 or 27, and at a party for about 50 people given by Randolph (D-Day) Davis, a convicted drug dealer, at his home on the night of Nov. 27-28.

But investigators and the grand jury found it impossible to verify these reports because the sources were deemed unreliable. Some of the informants wanted publicity but backed down when confronted with liabilities of perjury; others faced criminal charges and hoped to give information for lenient treatment; still others were peddling hearsay that evaporated at the touch of verification.

So unreliable were these informants that a state investigator, Russell Crawford, developed a kind of truth test to discount the worst of them. When he approached people who might have seen Miss Brawley during her disappearance, he showed them a picture of a man with no connection to the case and asked if they knew ''Mickey Carlton,'' a fictitious name.

If they said yes, he knew they were lying. But the rumor mills of Newburgh's mean streets soon gave the bogus Mickey Carlton a mystique - he was a man with a missing finger, and he had something to do with the disapperance of Miss Brawley.
Eventually, Mr. Sharpton, who had made many allegations without proof, cast suspicion on ''Mickey Carlton,'' and Miss Brawley's aunt, Juanita Brawley, was hinting to reporters that they should be on the lookout for a man with a missing finger.

Signs of Faked Condition—Her Mother At the Scene

Long after investigations raised doubts about Miss Brawley's tale of abduction and sexual abuse, the condition in which she was found - her torn and burned clothing, her body smeared with feces and scrawled with racial slurs, the appearance of a trauma -continued to haunt both the authorities and the public. It seemed to insist that something bad had happened to her, a phrase used often by Governor Cuomo, Mr. Abrams and others who puzzled over the contradictions.

But an array of persuasive evidence before the grand jury indicated that Miss Brawley herself - with materials at hand and perhaps with someone else's help - created the condition in which she was found, and a story to go with it, to cloak her actions in a guise of martyrdom.

The evidence for this view included the cotton wads placed in her ears and nostrils, before the feces were smeared on, to protect her from infection; eyewitness reports that she put herself into the large green plastic bag in which she was found; a pair of women's gloves that were used to smear the feces on her and that were found in the bag with her; F.B.I. laboratory reports linking Miss Brawley with the writing found on her body; indications that her clothes had been torn and scorched in the apartment where she had been hiding, and the absence of physical symptoms of abuse or trauma.

There was also the astonishing circumstance that Glenda Brawley had gone to the Pavillion apartment a half-hour before her daughter was found there and, supposedly without having seen her or detected any sign that she was there, left about 45 minutes later - just as the police were arriving. This circumstance has puzzled investigators from the start, and the summaries have shed no light on the matter.

The key events on Nov. 28, the day Miss Brawley was found, began at 1 P.M., the grand jury was told, when Elizabeth Abril, of 19B Carnaby, looked out a window and saw Glenda Brawley's Lincoln Continental parked in front of her former apartment, 19A.

Mrs. Abril was under the impression that the car was gone by 1:30, but Philip Reyes, another Pavillion resident, saw Mrs. Brawley sitting in it, with the motor running, at 1:50, while Rose Rosenthal, another resident, thought the car may have been there as late as 1:45 P.M.

Mrs. Brawley later told authorities she went to 19A to get mail that had not been forwarded and to look for her daughter. But Mrs. Brawley apparently did not pick up any mail because Timothy Losee, the mailman, said a large quantity of it was still in the Brawley mailbox when he got there on Monday.

Mrs. Brawley told authorities she arrived about 1:15 and observed that the apartment ''was spotless,'' the summaries said, adding: ''She did notice a pair of white boots which she didn't own, and a red spot in the middle of the floor which wasn't there when she moved out.'' The authorities later ruled out that the red spot was blood.

The summaries then quoted her as saying she sat in her car ''reading the mail for 15 [ to ] 30 minutes.''

Stepping Into a Bag

At 1:30 P.M., Joyce Lloray, a resident of 18B Scarborough Lane, looked out her rear window across a 150-foot expanse of autumn-tinged lawn and saw Tawana Brawley squatting behind her family's former apartment, the grand jury was told. Miss Brawley was alone and she seemed to be looking around.

''A few seconds later,'' the summaries said, ''Tawana took a large plastic bag, stepped into it and pulled it up around her neck. She then hopped four to five feet while inside the bag and laid down in a fetal position on the wet and mushy ground. Joyce Lloray called the police at 1:44 P.M.''

The first people to approach Miss Brawley were Lorenzo and Joyce Lloray and Gary Lanza, of 10D Scarborough Lane, at 1:45. Moments later, a Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff, Eric Thurston, arrived in response to Mrs. Lloray's call.

Just as he was pulling up, Glenda Brawley drove away and went to the Wappingers Falls police station. There she reported that her daughter had been missing since Tuesday and may have been in Newburgh. The time of her report was recorded as 2:02 P.M., a half hour after the girl had been spotted crawling into the bag.

''When asked why she waited so long to file the report, Glenda replied that she worked nights [ as an inspector at an I.B.M. plant ] and didn't have a car,'' the summaries noted. In fact, the King-Brawley household at that time possessed three automobiles: a Lincoln Continental, a Honda Prelude and a van.

Back at the Pavillion, at 2:03 P.M., the Sloper-Willen Ambulance arrived. Two emergency medical technicians, Raymond Strohm and Sharon Brantingham, saw Miss Brawley lying in a fetal position on her right side inside the plastic bag.
They cut open the bag and examined her. She was covered with feces, inside and outside her clothing, but her ears and nostrils were protected by cotton wads; her jeans were scorched and torn at the crotch and inner thighs, and her hair was matted and seemed to be unevenly cut. She seemed to be unconscious.

On investigation, it was shown that the feces came from the yard, and so detailed was the analysis of evidence that investigators were able to determine, through hair samples found in the excrement, which dog in the apartment complex was the source of the feces.

Smeared Gloves in Bag

It was not clear where or when the feces had been smeared on, but a pair of women's black gloves that were caked with fecal matter and had apparently been used to smear the matter on her were found inside the bag with Miss Brawley, and investigators said she could have smeared them on herself after crawling into the bag.

The cotton wads apparently were cut from the lining of the boots found in the former Brawley apartment. Investigators found fragments of denim on the carpet, indicating her jeans had been torn there. And they found more fragments near a radiator, where the crotch and legs of the jeans may have been scorched.

The grand jury learned that Miss Brawley's hair probably was not cut. When she vanished, she had been wearing a hairpiece woven into her own short hair; the impression was that she had almost shoulder-length hair. The hair-weave was gone when she was found, and her three-inch hair was matted by perspiration and fecal matter.

Evidence of Deception—“I Know You Can Hear Me”

From the first moments after she was found, seemingly dazed and degraded, and continuing for months, Miss Brawley assumed the mantle of victim in one of the most troubling crimes ever reported in New York State. It hardly mattered that her story was sketchy, that others spoke for her and that even traces of telltale evidence seemed to be absent.

Sympathy was lavished upon her by her family, by a stunned public, by supporters like the world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, and the actor Bill Cosby, who put up a $25,000 reward, and by civil rights organizations whose longstanding complaints of racism in the state and unfairness in the criminal justice system were being aired at last.

But right from the start, there were signs that something was wrong.

The daze proved ephemeral, as did her medical complaints. The grand jury heard testimony by doctors and other medical personnel that she had no injury other than a slight bump on the head that had not been suffered recently, that she was not suffering from amnesia or exposure, and that she had not been deprived of food, water or other amenities while missing. And there was specifically no evidence of rape or sexual abuse.

A Story With Few Details

Her story, too, was more than sketchy: it was devoid of all detail that would enable investigators to check or confirm any of it, and it began to crumble under the intense scrutiny of investigators, medical experts and the press.

Signs that the daze was feigned arose immediately. In her report, submitted to the grand jury, the ambulance attendant, Ms. Brantingham, said: ''I did a cursory head-to-toe examination and had some difficulty in opening the patient's eyes, as well as in straightening her legs. It was as if she was resisting in some type of conscious or semi-conscious manner.''

Then, preparing to put her on a stretcher, Ms. Brantingham said, she ''reached under the patient to turn her over and she then grabbed my right hand tightly, to the degree that I could not immediately remove my hand from her grasp. Enroute to the ambulance I managed to forcibly free my hand from her grasp.''

At St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, Nurse Kathleen Hickman thought the girl was unconscious, but Dr. Alice Pena, the emergency room doctor who removed and discarded the cotton material from the girl's nose and ears, put an ammonia inhalant under her nose, provoking an immediate reaction.

“Open Your Eyes”

Dr. Pena also administered a test of arm movements. ''Based on Tawana's eyelid resistance and arm movements,'' the summaries said, ''Dr. Pena concluded that Tawana was not unconscious and was aware of what was going on around her.''
In a moment of quiet drama, Dr. Pena confronted Miss Brawley:

''I know you can hear me, so open your eyes,'' she commanded.

''Tawana opened her eyes and was able to move them in all directions by following Pena's finger,'' the summaries said. Miss Brawley then was able to follow commands, moving her eyes, arms, legs and body to aid in the examination.

It was during the hospital examination that racial slurs written on Miss Brawley's body, and on some of her clothes, were found. These epithets - ''KKK,'' ''Nigger,'' and ''Bitch'' in block letters - had apparently been written with some kind of marker pen or pencil.

Nodding or shaking her head to questions by Dr. Pena, Miss Brawley gave contradictory answers. She indicated that she had been subjected to acts of oral sex, and after first indicating she had not been raped, she suggested she had been assaulted by three white men.

Meanwhile, detectives went to the King-Brawley apartment at Leewood Arms and told Glenda Brawley for the first time that her daughter had been found. ''Glenda displayed no reaction whatsoever,'' the summaries said.

Responding Through Gestures

After a detective at the hospital took photographs of Miss Brawley and the lettering on her body, a black Poughkeepsie Police Officer, Tommy Young, asked a series of questions, to which Miss Brawley reponded by nods, shakes of the head and notes.

Asked who had assaulted her, she grabbed the silver badge on his uniform, but did not respond when he asked if the badge she saw was like his. He then gave her his notebook and she wrote ''white cop.'' Asked where, she wrote ''woods.'' He then asked her if she had been raped, and she wrote: ''a lot'' and drew an arrow to ''white cop.''

This response was the closest Miss Brawley ever came to asserting to authorities that she had been raped. Her family and advisers, however, asserted many times that she was raped, sodomized and subjected to other abuse.

She stared into space when Officer Young asked for a description of her attackers, but nodded yes when asked if the assailant was white, wore dark clothing, had a dark vehicle and was about Mr. Young's age, 32. She wrote ''no'' when asked if she knew the driver, and when asked if she heard any names among the men, she responded by saying ''son.'' He then asked if the white cop had called someone ''son,'' and she nodded yes.

When she left the hospital that night, the grand jury was told, she was adjudged to be physically and mentally normal.

Indications of “Threat”

The next day, Elizabeth Seton Grundy, a hospital staff social worker, visited Miss Brawley at her home and found her ''alert and able to answer questions.'' The summaries said the grand jury was told that ''Tawana indicated to Grundy that she had been threatened to not cooperate with the police.''

Later that day, two Sheriff's detectives visited the home, but were not permitted to talk to Miss Brawley. Glenda and Juanita Brawley told them the girl had been abducted by two men, taken to a woods where four or five other men were waiting and was raped, sodomized and tortured for four days.

The detectives, with prosecutors present, went to the home the next day. Miss Brawley again appeared dazed and seemed to lapse in and out of consciousness. Answering leading questions with nods and whispers, she indicated that she could recall little about the abduction, assault or assailants and that she had no memory of the next four days, of how she came to be at the Pavillion or in the condition in which she was found. She did say that the men in the woods had called her ''nigger'' and ''black bitch,'' hit her on the head and urinated in her mouth.

Testimony From Psychiatrists

That was the last cooperation she was to provide authorities, who found themselves stymied. To explain Miss Brawley's inability to recall details, the Brawleys later said that her abductors forced her to drink a ''milky white liquid that left her unable to move, speak or remember most of her four-day disappearance,'' the summaries said.

The grand jury was told by two psychiatrists that, in many respects, the facts in the Brawley case conformed to a pattern of false allegations of sexual assault. Among these are that the victim says more than one assailant was involved and that she cannot offer descriptions or recall details.

A Poughkeepsie civil rights leader, Lorraine Jackson Ordia, said Miss Brawley wrote three notes on Dec. 1, apparently referring to the Dutchess County sheriff, Frederick Scoralick. The notes said, ''I want him dead'' and ''I want Scoralick.'' But investigators never found the notes. The summaries said the Brawleys were angered by a televised comment by the sheriff on Nov. 29 that the family was not cooperating.

In the next two weeks, investigators who went to Miss Brawley's home were told that she was still too traumatized to talk to them; when they saw her, she limped sometimes but not at others. Once, detectives in the doorway glimpsed her ''scurrying up the stairs without a limp.'' And later, the summaries said, she was seen ''carrying travel bags in and out of a car with no assistance.''

Conversations Reported

But in meetings with friends in December, the grand jury learned, she appeared ebullient, but resentful and fearful of her parents, who, she said, had lied. She did not say how. In a conversation with one friend that was reported to the grand jury, Miss Brawley said news reports that she had been subjected to oral sex and raped were false.

Between Dec. 1 and Dec. 14, Miss Brawley was examined a dozen times by doctors, including a psychiatrist, at the Westchester County Medical Center.
During one physical examination, Miss Brawley was asked to move her arms and legs. ''Tawana stated she was unable to do so, and when told to stand she dropped to the floor,'' the summaries said.

Her claim that she lacked strength in an arm was tested: the arm was held over her face and dropped, and it did not hit her face. ''This indicated there was no organic basis for the weakness,'' the summaries said. The grand jury was told that doctors believed she had either created symptoms out of her subconscious mind, a condition known as ''conversion disorder,'' or that she was ''malingering,'' that is, faking.

“Obligation to Her Family”

One doctor noted that Miss Brawley was ''not acting appropriately for one who has undergone such a traumatic event'' and concluded that her physical complaints were ''psychogenic in origin.''

Miss Brawley refused to talk to the psychiatrist about what happened to her but did speak about her family. The doctor ''felt that Tawana would have liked to forget the incident but felt an obligation to her family to participate,'' the summaries said.
During the ensuing months, as rallies and campaigns for the family unfolded, sums ranging from $600 to $4,300 were collected by the Brawley advisers, the grand jury was told. Some of the money was spent on the campaign, and some was given to the King-Brawley family.

Neighbors told the grand jury that in February they overheard Glenda Brawley saying to Mr. King: ''You shouldn't have took the money because after it all comes out, they're going to find out the truth.'' And another neighbor heard Mrs. Brawley say: ''They know we're lying, and they're going to find out and come and get us.''

Robert Woodson Sr.: Black-on-White Crime in the Suites; African-American Political Power Robbed Whites Blind

[Typos corrected on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 1:49 a.m.]

I ripped off the idea for my title from Countenance Blog, which is where I heard tell of the op-ed below.

Robert L. Woodson, Sr. is a “conservative” black race hustler. That means he’s not as greedy as the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson Sr., and unlike them, he’s not a criminal, nor does he devote himself to encouraging and supporting black criminals, but he still expects white patronage, and to have a veto right over what whites may say and do.

Woodson used to be a fellow of the American Enterprise Institute, but quit in protest in 1995, after the foundation funded the research and writing of Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray’s The Bell Curve, and Dinesh D’Souza’s The End of Racism, over his objections. (Black race hustler Glenn Loury, another phony conservative, also quit AEI, after D’Souza’s book was published.)

Considering that D’Souza was himself so unethical in libeling the late Sam Francis that the first print run of his book had to be scrapped, I suppose you could see Woodson’s and Loury’s protest as a case of poetic justice. D’Souza had libeled Francis in a failed attempt at triangulation, in order to protect himself from just the sort of black attacks that came his way, anyway.

There’s a lot of good stuff in his book, all the same, and you can buy a used copy for a song, without benefiting Mr. Triangulation.

I posted the following comment at The Washington Times:

This op-ed should have been entitled, “Black-on-White Crime in the Suites,” since almost all of the pilfered tax and public employee pension money Woodson cites was originally seized from the white tax base. (I got this point from Countenance Blog.)

Woodson makes a parallel between “black-on-black crime in the suites” to “black-on-black crime on the streets,” but the false premise makes for a false parallel: America’s biggest crime problem is black-on-white crime. The majority of crimes committed by blacks in this country are committed against whites. Frequently, blacks will make one-to-two hour round trips, just to brutalize whites.

WOODSON: Black-on-black crime in the suites
African-American political power didn’t protect civil rights, it robbed us blind
By Robert L. Woodson, Sr. [with running commentary by N.S.]

The Washington Times

For decades, it was presumed that having blacks in positions of political leadership on the local, state and national levels would serve as a safeguard to preserve the victories of the civil rights movement and ensure that the people on whose behalf those battles had been fought could benefit from the new opportunities that those victories afforded. But in time, just the opposite has happened. In an era where race has begun to serve as both a shield (rebuffing legitimate criticism as evidence of racism) and a sword (attacking dissenting opinions as racist) many black officials have entered zones of comfort insulated from responsibility. In many cities, monopolies of opportunist leadership have reigned unchallenged for decades.

[N.S.: “In an era where race has begun to serve as both a shield (rebuffing legitimate criticism as evidence of racism) and a sword (attacking dissenting opinions as racist)…” But Woodson plays exactly that game!]

A case in point is that of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick who, along with his cronies, was indicted on 38 charges, in what a federal prosecutor described as a “pattern of extortion, bribery and fraud” by some of Detroit’s most prominent officials. Charges in the indictment include extortion, mail and wire fraud, obstruction of justice, malicious threats to extort money, and bribery.

The accusations against Kilpatrick were described in detail by Walter Russell Mead, editor of The American Interest. He reports that the mayor and the friends he recruited to serve his administration looted millions from the government coffers and accepted bribes in the form of trips on chartered jets, golf outings, and massages. The same real-estate firm that paid these bribes also used Detroit pension funds to buy out-of-state strip malls that cost the fund $3.1 million. The property titles were never transferred to the pension fund. According to a Detroit Free Press investigation, throughout the years, corrupt and incompetent trustees appointed by the Detroit Democratic officials racked up nearly a half-billion dollars in failed investments of the pension fund, on which many low- and middle-income city employees were relying for their retirement income.

The opportunists’ devastation of Detroit is not an anomaly. Black-on-black crime in the suites has become as common place as black-on-black crime on the streets. It is so commonplace that the public has become numb to its existence.

[What about black-on-white crime?]

Recently, a former District councilman Harry Thomas, Jr., conspired with others to redirect $300,000 intended to purchase sports equipment for low-income kids. The money instead, was used to purchase such luxuries as a $69,000 SUV, Pebble Beach, Calif., golf outings, and designer clothes. When Thomas‘ attorney tried to use his years of service to the community as a mitigating factor in order to lighten his sentence, the prosecutor correctly observed that his public service was, in fact, related to his crime and was designed to mask his real intention - satisfying his greed. Thomas was sentenced to 38 months in prison.

Just a stone’s throw from the nation’s capital, in Prince George’s County, a former county executive, Jack Johnson, and his wife drew prison terms for accepting bribes for directing county contracts to friends and acquaintances, regardless of the impact this had on the people to be served. During Johnson’s entire eight years in office, the pair treated the county treasury like their own personal piggy bank.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina that laid Ward 9 of New Orleans to waste, it was discovered that former Rep. William Jefferson was hiding bribe money in his freezer. Nine members of Jefferson’s family serving in various positions in the Louisiana government were also indicted on corruption charges. In one instance, a half million dollars in grants intended for programs to help pregnant black teens was diverted for the personal use of members of the Jefferson clan.

This graft and corruption continues and mounts, with little public outcry. [Woodson is one of the black writers who has made it his business to intimidate white critics into silence.] For example, several members of the Congressional Black Caucus diverted college scholarship money that was intended for low-income needy constituents: the scholarships went, instead, to their own grandchildren and the children of congressional staff members, some of whom did not even live in their districts.

We know that when parents practice illicit or immoral behavior, it has a detrimental effect on children. Government officials who are given the public trust are in similar positions as role models. Today, corruption in the suites may even exacerbate the incidence of violence among youths in urban centers that are devoid of a model of moral and ethical behavior. In addition, while some black officials are preoccupied with lining their own pockets and keeping the issue of racism at the center of public attention, they are ignoring the steadily rising crisis of gang violence and black-on-black warfare in the nation’s cities. Just weeks after Trayvon Martin’s killing, in the course of just one weekend, Chicago was the site of 40 black-on-black shootings, seven of which were fatal. [Trayvon Maartin is a bad example, because he was a would-be murderer whom George Zimmerman killed in self-defense.] There was a stunning silence among black spokesmen and public officials on this tragedy.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said that the highest form of maturity is the ability to be self-critical. [He didn’t mean it!] Black America needs to be self-critical now more than at any other time in its history. Rather than calling the Tea Party racist, maybe they should copy the essence of the Tea Party movement, generating a call for cleansing and renewal inside the Democratic Party as the Tea Party has within the Republican Party. The black community has to start challenging those leaders who use race as a means of deflecting attention away from their corrupt, immoral, and incompetent actions.

The call for reform and revitalization of a commitment to those among us who have the least can only come from within the black community. [It’ll never happen.] Those on the outside who toe the line of political correctness are afraid to raise their voices, and, if criticism is raised from others on the outside, it can be dismissed as racism. [As I said above…] The most powerful vehicle for revitalization is the voice of the constituents in whose name entrenched opportunist public figures were elected to office.

[The only way blacks will change for the better, is if whites insist on it. And due to the terror campaign against any whites who criticize black evil, that will not happen. Thus, blacks must live completely separate from whites, or they will drag whites down to their own level.]

“I’m Going to F**kin’ Kill You All!”: Racist Black Ray Miles Smashes His Way into Topeka TV Station WIBW, and Punches, Bites, and Stabs White Workers

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two employees injured when a disgruntled man broke into WIBW-TV, 631 SW Commerce Place, at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday were out of the hospital Wednesday night.

In surveillance video, the man, identified as Ray Miles, is seen punching two employees. Those workers and two others tackle him. They appear to have him subdued when sales manager Roger Brokke starts to sit up and other workers join the pile - that's the moment Brokke feels himself being stabbed and sees the man has somehow taken out a knife.

Before the violent outburst, the man was allowed into the front lobby and receptionist Lynda Janes called [N.S.: Her husband] News Director Jon Janes to talk with him. The man, identified as Ray Miles, told Janes he was upset by the way the VA was handling his case. Janes explained to the man that he needs to discuss the issue with the VA and that WIBW couldn't help him at this time.

Miles left the building, but returned about 10 minutes later and became agitated when Lynda Janes and Rob Peppers refused to let him in. When he saw Peppers pick up the phone to call police, the man pushed aside a sofa in the entryway, unplugged a lamp and smashed the glass front doors with it. He then reached through to open the door.

Lynda and Rob ran ahead of him toward the newsroom to warn other employees. Rob stopped in the master control area with the intent of issuing a page, while Lynda alerted newsroom employees, who evacuated to the rear garage area.

"He told me to hit him," said Dylan Schoonover, an employee who saw the man coming down a hallway near the newsroom edit bays. Schoonover slid out a side door unharmed and convened with other staff outside.

Master Control Operator Joe Garrett saw the man walk down a hallway after Lynda ran by alerting everyone to the situation.

"As I turned and came back into master control to call the 911 operator, I saw an African-American male, roughly 5'8", walk by master control with a black and green backpack slung over his shoulder," Garrett said.

A few moments later, Garrett watched on the security camera -still on the phone with 911- as several employees tackled the man near an east exit of the building.

Miles had made it to the newsroom, then turned around and started back toward the front of the building, encountering news director Jon Janes along the way. Miles shoved Janes into a wall, knocking him down. Brokke witnessed what happened and tried to stop Miles, but Miles punched him in the head. Chief Engineer Cary Lahnum and sales associate Greg Palmer then attempted to tackle Miles, with Brokke and Janes joining in.

The man was heard yelling, "I'm going to f**kin' kill you all!" during the struggle. The foursome appeared to have Miles subdued when Brokke, who had already been bitten three times in the back, felt a pain in his hip. He says he looked down to see a knife going into his leg and alerted his coworkers. Four other employees who had arrived in the hallway then joined in holding Miles down and trying to kick the knife out of his hand.

Brokke and Palmer both suffered cuts and were taken by ambulance to Topeka hospitals. Lahnum suffered a black eye and Janes also had bruises, but they did not seek medical treatment.

The employees held the suspect down until police arrived. Miles was taken to the hospital for treatment and booked in the Shawnee County Jail Wednesday afternoon. He's being held on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, aggravated criminal threat resulting in terror or evacuation, aggravated burglary, criminal damage and aggravated battery.

Jon Janes says he has spoken with Miles once before, on March 22, when he came to the station to see about having a story done on the VA mistreating him. Janes also sent him away at that time and Miles became angry and left.

Miles is described as a homeless veteran. He was convicted in 2007 of obstruction and received a suspended jail sentence in 2010 for assault on a law enforcement officer.

Man arrested in WIBW attack has assault history
By Steve Fry
May 24, 2012, 12:39 p.m.
The Capital-Journal

A man arrested Wednesday in connection with a melee at the WIBW-TV station has a history of battery and fighting, according to court records and information that surfaced at a hearing Thursday.

Ray Anthony Miles, 48, who is homeless, must post a bond of $100,000 cash or professional surety in order to be released from the Shawnee County Jail, Shawnee County District Court Judge Steve Ebberts told Miles during his first appearance hearing.

Criminal charges haven't been filed so far.

Miles was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, aggravated criminal threat causing terror or evacuation, criminal damage and simple battery.

During Thursday morning’s fracas, two television station employees suffered minor stab wounds before WIBW employees subdued a man wielding a knife.

Before the violence erupted, the man had met with the station's news director and demanded WIBW do a story about an issue he was having with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The news director declined to do the story, the man left the station, and the disturbance occurred when the man re-entered by smashing a lamp through a locked glass security door, kicking in the door, then rushing past a receptionist.

During the first appearance on Thursday, Ebberts made a “conditional appointment” of a public defender to represent Miles.

Miles said he would accept the public defender, “but if he doesn’t look good, I’ll get rid of him.”

An assistant district attorney asked Ebberts to set Miles’ bond at $500,000 due to the severity of the crimes, the safety concern to the community, the allegation he broke into a public building, and a lack of ties to Shawnee County since he is homeless.

Ebberts declined to set the bond that high, noting Miles doesn’t have any income, and the judge didn’t want the bond to be "punitive."

Miles’ next court appearance is to be Aug. 29, but if criminal charges are filed, an earlier hearing will be scheduled.

Miles doesn’t have a job or receive government assistance. He does receive $200 a month in food stamps.

Miles has past convictions tied to run-ins with law enforcement officers, according to Shawnee County District Court records.

Miles recently had been put out of the Topeka Rescue Mission for fighting.

On March 7, Miles was released from serving a supervised parole for convictions of battery to a state law enforcement officer and criminal trespassing at the Memorial Building, S.W. 10th and Jackson. The incidents occurred Sept. 8, 2010.

Following a trial, a jury convicted him of the battery and trespassing charges. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 12 months for the battery conviction and six months for trespassing, was credited with spending 98 days in jail, and was placed on parole, court records said.

On Sept. 6, 2007, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was investigating a report of a pedestrian on an interstate when Miles resisted the trooper, court records said.

Miles pleaded no contest to obstructing the legal process or official duty, and a second charge of pedestrian on an interstate was dismissed, court records said.

Miles was placed on three months of supervised probation, and he was credited with 55 days he spent in jail during the pending case.

Miles also had a conviction for battery in 2003 and a 1995 bad checks case, both in Arkansas, court records said.

The convictions in Kansas and Arkansas are misdemeanors.

Chicago: Improved Reporting at Trib on 8 Shootings (1/7)

By Nicholas Stix

Although the Chicago Tribune’s title for the following shootings dispatch sounds virtually identical to many others in my Chicago files, most of which are written solo by Peter Nickeas, the report sounds nothing like them. In one case, the reporters note that the victim was a gang member, in another the CPD describes a shooting as “gang-related,” and in a third, the police are cited as sayng they didn't believe the victims' claim as to where they'd been shot. Usually, readers have to divine everything between the lines. I don’t know if this is due to the CPD being more helpful, or to the influence of Liam Ford.

The problem in Chicago isn't "senseless violence." Many of these shootings are good shootings, because one gangbanger is shooting another. The problems are that: 1. These guys can't shoot straight; 2. Trauma surgeons save too many of them; 3. Illinois has no death penalty, so instead of meeting justice, they get to hit up on the white net taxpayer for $50,000 per year for prison; and 4. Black and Hispanic mothers raise each new generation of children to become new gangbangers.

Most of the white urban ethnic gangs of the early 20th century died off, because many were killed by their enemies or their friends, many others were executed by the state, and no ideology of the rule of crime was promoted by the schools, higher ed, the press, and the state itself.

A 22-year-old man was shot to death and seven other people, including a 15-year-old boy, were hurt in shootings on the South and West sides Thursday evening, police said.

The slaying victim was shot in the chest and was dead on the scene following the attack about 7:10 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Laflin Street in the Gresham neighborhood, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
Someone approached the man on foot before shooting him, police said; the victim was affiliated with an area gang.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Sidney McDowell. He lived where he was shot, a spokeswoman for the office said. He was pronounced dead atJohn H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook Countyabout an hour after being shot. [N.S.: Spacing errors were in the original.]

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the head by a man or boy who came up to him and shot him while he was in Palmer Park, 200 E. 111th Street, about 6:47 p.m. in the Roseland neighborhood, said Zala. The boy was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Zala said.

Two men, 18 and 23,were shot about 10:30 p.m., police said. The younger man was shot in the abdomen and the older man was shot in the right hip, police said. They drove to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and are in serious condition, police said.

The pair told police they were in a car traveling north on the 7100 block of South Cicero Avenue in the Ford City neighborhood when another car drove up and someone inside opened fire about 10:30 p.m., police said. But nobody in that area called police to report the sound of gunfire and police suspect the address provided by the men may be bogus.

About 5 minutes later, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the right calf when two people walked up to him and another male and started shooting, police said. They were walking on the 7500 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, police said. The boy is in stable condition at Christ medical center.

A 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman were shot about 8:35 p.m. near Monterey and Vincennes avenues in the Morgan Park neighborhood, Zala said. The two were in the area when a man or boy came up to them and shot them, Zala said.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, and the woman was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to the back, Zala said.

Earlier, a man was shot and critically wounded in the Albany Park neighborhood.

The man, 19, was shot in the chest abdomen [sic] about 5:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Montrose Avenue, said Chicago police news affairs officers. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, where he remained Friday morning, police said.

Someone emerged from between two buildings and opened fire at the man, hitting him. Police said the shooting was gang-related.

More Bullet Violence in Seattle

By Our Man in Seattle, BR

Saturday, a gun decided to shoot a man enjoying himself at the Seattle Center.

According to the news item, a colorless gang member apparently assisted the gun—although the headline misleads by saying he was shot by the Space Needle—unless there is a new black gang by that name, it is highly unlikely. Come to think of it, "Space Needle" would be a good handle for a spaced out junkie—or a drug gang.

Note that the Folklife festival was going on. I never attend any of the various public events at Seattle Center, because it is not uncommon for black violence to erupt. For many years I have had season tickets to the Seattle Opera in the same area, but the opera fails to attract more than a handful of blacks, and so is much safer—except for the tragic murder of the harmless and beloved Tuba Man, who played outside every opera performance.

In another article, we learn that there were more than 50 gunshots Saturday. In one case, the culprits were Asians.

This headline blames "gun violence." But that is not really fair, as it appears it is the bullets which are really at fault: Assistant Police Chief Paul McDonagh says, "Those bullets pose a danger to everyone."

If the Seattle media and public weren't so liberal, they would be talking about "gang violence," or "black violence," or even "minority gang violence." Of course, it wouldn't be liberal to blame the actual culprits—besides, this gives the left license to aim at one of their favorite targets, guns. The fact that concealed carry licenses can easily be obtained in this state, so an increasing number of people are able to defend themselves, is something that sticks in their craws. Defenseless white sheeple is the liberal ideal. However, with gangs shooting up the area, having the means to defend oneself doesn't protect bystanders from becoming living backstops.

Saving Private Ryan: “Hymn to the Fallen,” and John Williams Talks about Scoring Ryan

May 30, 2011, 5:30 a.m.

Saving Private Ryan Soundtrack composed by John Williams, performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Somber music for a somber movie.

John Williams is God’s gift to the movies.

When Aaron Copland (1900-1990) composed music for a movie, he would not only write stunning music, but lots of it, so that a picture like The Red Pony might contain over a solid hour of music, very little of it repeat themes. He took twice as long writing a score as the typical composer, and he demanded and got a much higher fee—and he earned every bit of it. The opening theme alone to The Red Pony is so stunning that when my 10-year-old son and I saw the picture for the first time last summer, and the opening credits cited Copland, my son said, without prompting, “Thank you, Aaron.”

Although there is a fair amount of repetition in this score, it still blows me away how many great individual themes John Williams wrote for one picture, and how powerful they are, not just the requiem. We Stix men feel the same way about seeing John Williams’ name in the credits as we do about Aaron Copland.

[Postscript, Memorial Day, 2012: Unfortunately, I just found that the movie folks have exercised their prerogative, and forced Youtube to cease from hosting all but Williams' requiem to Ryan.]

Edith Piaf: “Tu Es Partou”

English Translation:

We loved each other tenderly,
Like we loved all lovers,
Then one day you left me,
Ever since I've been desperate,
I see you everywhere in the sky,
I see you everywhere on the earth,
You are my joy and my sun,
My nights, my days, my clear dawns.

(CHORUS)

You are everywhere, because you are in my heart,
You are everywhere, because you are my happiness,
Everything that is around me,
Even life does not represent you,
Sometimes I dream that I am in your arms,
And you speak softly in my ear,
You tell me things that make me close my eyes,
And I find that marvelous.

Maybe one day you will return,
I know that my heart waits for you,
You cannot forget,
The past days we spent together,
My eyes never stop searching for you,
Listen well, my heart calls you,
We can love each other again,
And you’ll see life would be beautiful.

(CHORUS)

Tokyo: 2 College Girls Get Dead Drunk, and Let 2 Strange Black Men Pick Them Up at Nicki Minaj Concert; the Men Allegedly Rape One Girl in a Taxicab,

but the Girls Still Go with Them to Hotel Rooms, where the Pretty Irish Colleen Ends Up Strangled

War victim Nicola Furlong

Dancer James Blackstone, aka James “King Tight” Blackstone, aka James Blackston, 21, is reportedly one of the suspects in Nicola Furlong's murder

[Previously, at WEJB/NSU:

“Diversity is Strength: It’s Also ‘Suicidal’ White Women.”]

[Update, Saturday, June 9, 11:46 a.m.: The suspect falsely identified by Janet Shan was Richard Hinds, 19.]
By Nicholas Stix

Liberalism is a factory for the production of dead white females.

These allegations are so sickening that I’m hoping this has all been misreported, and yet … it sounds so familiar.

Mistake #1: Two college girls, at least one of whom is 21-year-old, Irish exchange student Nicola Furlong, the other of whom is also 21 (knowing as I do firsthand how clannish exchange students are, she was probably another Irish coed), who are attending Takasaki City University of Economics in Gunma Prefecture, travel to Tokyo on Wednesday, to attend a Nicki Minaj concert.

Minaj has gigantic, fake-looking, rubber breasts; bleached hair (she’s black) so tawdry that I initially called it “prostitute-style,” but realized I was insulting working girls everywhere, and deleted the remark; looks plain, in spite of gobs of garish-looking makeup; dresses like (see the hair reference); and performs “rap.”

Nicki Minaj, in a "blonde" wig

No sensible person would attend such a concert under any circumstances, but why would one travel 10,000 miles, in order to study at a Japanese university, and then travel yet again, chasing after the worst of non-Japanese culture?

Nicki Minaj, in a black wig

Mistake #2: Mere hours after arriving in a strange city in a strange country, the two girls get drunk out of their minds (or did the suspects drug them?).

Mistake #3: The two girls—we’re supposed to think of these young bimbos as women?—accept an invitation to a very late-night dinner after the concert from two black utter strangers, 21 and 19, from the rap/hip-hop world.

Mistake #4: The girls get into a taxi, to go to the strange black men’s hotel, which to the black men (and to any sensible white woman, as my mom explained to me during the Mike Tyson rape trial), means they are consenting to have sex with them. If you don’t want to have sex with a strange man, you do not agree, late at night, to go to his hotel with him.

In the taxicab on the way to the hotel, the men both allegedly rape the girl who lived to tell.

This part is really weird, because what about the driver and Nicola Furlong? Why didn't either of them do something? But it gets weirder still.

Mistake #5: The girls both exit the cab at the hotel, but instead of screaming “Help! Police!,” each goes to a room with one of the men. A man rapes you, and so you then go to a hotel room with him to have more sex with him? A man rapes your girlfriend, and so you go to a hotel room to have sex with him?

At 3:20 a.m., after getting a complaint from a guest about ear-splitting “music” playing in another room, a hotel employee (security?) enters the room where the dead Nicola Furlong lies on the floor, the 21-year-old black man standing over her.

I’m guessing that the black man ignored the hotel staffer’s knocks on the door, and the staffer let himself in, using the pass key. (When I’m in a hotel standing over a girl I’ve just murdered, I never respond to knocks on the door. That is an absolute, moral principle of mine!) I’m also guessing that, if the allegations hold up, the black man was blasting the music, so that no one would hear Nicola Furlong’s screams.

Both men have been arrested for rape, and both are suspected of murdering Nicola Furlong.

From the spare reporting, it sounds like both girls had death wishes, but only one got her wish fulfilled.

Which brings up the reporting.

Although the only media report I could find on the case was the Japan Times, story which I copied and pasted in its entirety, I learned much more from a blog item by Janet Shan, a black writer who specializes in all things black, who writes that her source was the JT story, at The Hinterlandgazette.

And yet, Shan’s blog item is full of information on the suspects that is nowhere else to be found, except for later blog items by people who copied it from her, and also clearly misrepresents the JT story, by changing the word “raped” to “fondling.” Although Shan eventually quotes the Japan Times story, as to the alleged rape, that comes towards the end of the item, after most blog readers will have already moved on.

Here is what Shan writes, which cannot be found anywhere else:

Americans James Blackston, Unnamed Teen, Arrested in Connection with Death of Nicola Furlong After Nicki Minaj Tokyo Concert
By Janet Shan
May 27, 2012
Hinterland Gazette

TOP STORY: Two black Americans, one identified as dancer James Blackstone (James “King Tight” Blackstone or James Blackston), and another unnamed teen, (reported as [N.S.: June 9: false identification by Janet Shan!] have been arrested in connection with the death of an Irish exchange student, Nicola Furlong, in Tokyo, Japan. Both men were reportedly arrested for fondling a friend of the victim in a taxi cab. It is not clear if the men were connected to rapper Nicki Minaj, whose concert Nicola Furlong had attended. The U.S. State Department confirmed that two Americans were arrested and a police investigation is underway. Nicola Furlong reportedly died from asphyxiation. Furlong, who attended Takasaki City University of Economics in Gunma Prefecture, died Thursday after spending a night in the Keio Plaza Hotel following the Nicki Minaj concert.

King Tight’s Twitter @kingtightbucc20 is no longer working nor can you view his profile on MySpace. Blackston has reportedly served as background dancer for Omarion and Marques Houston in Osaka. He supposedly appeared in music videos for the Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, and J. Lo. Here is a picture of James Blackston, AKA King Tight:

I couldn’t find any report that named “James Blackstone (James ‘King Tight’ Blackstone or James Blackston)” or [the person falsely identified by Janet Shan]. And so, at 8: 31 p.m. last night, I left the following comment for Shan.

• Ms. Shan,

The Japan Times story you cited as your source does not name James Blackston or [the person you falsely identified], nor does any other source published prior to this story. Did the JT previously name the two, but since scrub their names?

Did some other source previously report their names, but since scrub them, or delete the story naming them altogether?

That was over nine hours ago, and I know Shan read it hours ago, because she has since deleted two vulgar comments left by another reader, both of which I’d earlier seen.

Shan concluded her blog item,
Not to blame the victim, but going off to the room of a perfect stranger isn’t smart, no matter which country you are in. We have seen the tragic results such actions can have. Remember American teen Natalee Holloway, who mysteriously disappeared in Aruba after hooking up with Joran Van Der Sloot?

A mass-produced, feminist moron responded with the usual, robotic reply:

Students2001
'not to blame the victim' it doesnt matter whether she voluntarily went to his hotel room or not!!! who do you think you are?? She was murdered. an innocent beautiful young woman is dead now and it's his fault

Of course, it matters whether she voluntarily went to his hotel room. Legally, it does not affect the murder charge, but it certainly matters, regarding any rape charge, and most of all, it matters, because if she’d had a lick of sense, she’d still be alive. We can save other girls from a similar fate, but the feminist robot doesn’t want that. She wants the maximum number of dead white girls possible.

As a wee lad, I was a heavyweight drinker, and I also wasted a lot of time playing nursemaid to much bigger, and often older kids who couldn’t hold their booze. However, early on, I slipped up a couple of times.

When I was 13 years old, I got very drunk, and was robbed of my newspaper route Christmas tips. About a week later, I got so drunk on New Year’s Eve, that I did things I couldn’t remember, like vomiting all over my mom’s bathroom and failing to clean it up, after returning home about six in the morning. Other things, like letting myself back into my best friend’s girlfriend’s family’s apartment, I recalled after overhearing my mom complain to my Nana about the woman’s call. However, I still didn’t remember the woman chasing me out of her apartment.

At that point, I resolved never again to get so drunk that I didn’t know what I was doing, what was going on around me, and was completely defenseless. Yes, at 13, though not in exactly those words.

Somewhere, introductions are taking place.

U.S. men held over alleged rape, Irish woman's death
Kyodo
Two American men were arrested Saturday over the death of a female Irish exchange student in a Shinjuku Ward hotel, Tokyo police said.
Sunday, May 27, 2012
Japan Times

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Nicola Furlong, was found unconscious in a hotel room early Thursday morning and was later confirmed dead at a hospital. An autopsy indicated she may have been strangled.

One of the two suspects, a 19-year-old who identified himself as a musician, was in the room with the woman when hotel staff went up to probe a complaint about loud noise.

The two men were charged with indecent assault on the student's 21-year-old female friend, who was in a separate room with the other man, but police suspect they were involved in the student's death, investigative sources said.

The woman was attending Takasaki City University of Economics in Gunma Prefecture.

She arrived with her friend in Tokyo on Wednesday afternoon, and after catching a concert at a club in Koto Ward the two men approached them and invited them to a meal, the sources said.

After deciding to take a cab to the hotel, where both men were staying, the two allegedly raped the Irish woman's drunk friend inside the taxi, they said.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the musician paired off with the Irish woman and the other two went to a different room.

A guest complained about a loud noise coming from one of the rooms around 3:20 a.m. Thursday, and a hotel employee who checked the room found the Irish woman lying unconscious on the floor with the man standing nearby, according to the sources.

There were no signs that anyone else had entered the room, they added.
