The TCM Film Noir for Sunday, July, 16, is Gun Crazy (1950). The leads, Peggy Cummins and John Dall, are known for this film and not much else. Our host, Eddie Muller, calls Gun Crazy "subversive." The female character is made to be stronger and tougher than her male partner in crime.
It runs at 10 a.m. ET Sunday July 16.

Tennis noir of the day:
Venus Williams was blasted out of England today by Spain's Garbine Muguruza 7-5,6-0.Tremendous performance by Muguruza ,as she fought off some of William's best attacks in the first set,and then obliterated Williams in the second set.
Well deserved championship for the Spaniard.Williams,37 will probably not be seen again in a majors final.

The TCM Film Noir for Sunday, July 23, is Deadline at Dawn (1946), showing at 10 am ET. This is a murder mystery on the dark streets of New York (filmed on studio back lots).
Bill Williams plays a sailor who thinks he may have killed a woman while drunk. In a typical role for her, Susan Hayward plays a taxi dancer who helps him. In a standard noir trope, Williams is an amnesiac veteran.
Our host Eddie Muller says this film has enough suspects to fill a baseball team. Just a few are the dead woman's gangster brother (Joseph Calleia); a philosophical cab driver (Paul Lukas); her blind ex-husband (Marvin Miller); and a young wife (Osa Massen).
This one is a favorite of mine, though not too realistic.
