a 22-year-old woman from indiana drowned while on vacation in puerto rico after she went into the water to rescue her girlfriend and was swept away in a rip tide; but that's not the real reason for this "thing" from Ted Verity's daily mail, which continues its war on the English language!

"a 22-year-old women [sic] from indiana drowned while on vacation in puerto rico after she went into the water to rescue her girlfriend and became caught up in a strong [sic] rip current."

"tragic reason woman, 22, waded into puerto rico ocean where she drowned"

"Cimone Alicea Dawson, a 22-year-old from indianapolis, drowned while swimming off condado beach, puerto rico."

N.S.: The whole point of the "thing" wasn't to report on an unfortunate loss of life, but to promote lesbianism. The daily mail operative, James Gordon, repeatedly underscored that Cimone Dawson, the decedent, was a lesbian. Only one commenter was able to get away with pointing this out.

Note too the atrocious English of daily mail operative James Gordon.

"Tragic reason woman, 22, waded into puerto rico ocean [sic] where she drowned"

As a number of commenters pointed out, there's no such thing as "puerto rico ocean," and even if there were, it would be "puerto rican ocean."

"meanwhile, her girlfriend was rescued and helped back to shore by both the authorities and locals [sic] beachgoers."

Editor-in-chief Ted Verity doesn't give a hoot about good writing. All that matters is being pc.
