explosion outside Trump hotel in las vegas is being investigated as “an act of terror”; driver dead, 7 receive shrapnel

GRA: Connected or not, it’s achieved the goal of scaring the bejeezus out of a few people.

“(zh) government officials told abc noise that the Tesla cybertruck explosion on wednesday outside the Trump las vegas hotel in nevada is being investigated as a ‘possible act of terror.

“Elon Musk posted, ‘this explosion had nothing to do with the vehicle.’

“here’s more from abc:

“investigators do not know what caused the blast, such as whether something was wrong with the vehicle or whether something external prompted it. determining what was behind the explosion is the key focus of the probe.

“an official briefed on the probe told abc noise that the Tesla cybertruck had a load of fireworks-style mortars onboard. investigators are urgently working to determine a motive and whether the driver intended to set off an explosion and why.

“until a motive is determined and other possibilities are ruled out, police are treating the explosion like a possible criminal act and a possible act of terror. evidence collection and investigation are ongoing.”

GRA: Looks intentional to me.

VEGAS DEAD GUY ID'D AS MATTHEW LIVELSBERGER,37;POSSIBLE CONNECTION WITH JABBAR

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KTNV) — New details on the suspect involved in the fatal Cybertruck explosion at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas are emerging following federal search operations in Colorado Springs.

On New Year's Day, it was revealed the now-deceased suspect had rented the Tesla Cybertruck in Colorado via the Turo app.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, who had multiple addresses associated with him in Colorado Springs.

FBI investigators are at one of Livelsberger's townhome residences. ATF has been brought in to assist.

Federal sources said the suspect in Las Vegas and the suspect behind the fatal attack in New Orleans both served in the military and the FBI is investigating a connection between them.

Las Vegas Metro police are asking the community that if they see anything suspicious to please report it immediately.

Smoke was coming from the Tesla truck BEFORE it exploded. Bombs generally just explode--they don't burn first and then explode. Sounds to me like a thermal runaway from the batteries. I'm sure Musk would prefer it was a terror attack and not another flaw of his stupid vehicles. Try not to park next to one!
