By Nicholas Stix
In the locker room,
The old man quips
To his colleague,
“Today is the Führer’s birthday!”
He will sit on his
62-year-old Sitzfleisch
All birthday long.
A young Jew will
Walk his paces
On the line,
The elevated line,
All birthday long.
The young Germans
Do not know,
The Gastarbeiter
Do not know.
Only the old men
And I know
That we are working
Without holiday overtime.
