Are we seeing the defense for Nkosi Thandiwe, the suspect in the murder of Brittney Watts? Is it, if you are charged with murder, refuse to appear in court?
Thandiwe was indicted Friday by a Fulton County grand jury. He was charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, gun possession and other charges.
The suspect was a no-show Monday for a scheduled preliminary hearing in Fulton County Superior Court. His attorney, John Garland, also declined to appear for a bond hearing. Thandiwe will remain in jail without bond.
This was the third time Thandiwe and his attorney did not appear for a scheduled hearing. Monday's hearing had been postponed a week. Last Monday's hearing was carried over from August.
Thandiwe is accused of fatally shooting Brittney Watts, paralyzing Lauren Garcia, and wounding Tiffany Ferenczy.
All three victims worked in the Proscenium building, as did Thandiwe, a security guard in the building for a year.
