N.S.: About ten years ago, I pitched an article to Peter Brimelow, on how America was a failed state. He rejected it, saying it was "too pessimistic, and then stole my pitch and gave it to another writer, whose version of my story Peter published (under a name I'd never heard, and which was likely a pseudonym) about six months later. The other day, I wasted a couple of hours searching in vain for my purloined pitch.
