No need to guess the race of the perp, since Daniel Israel Mincey is identified by several media outlets, including the Daily Mail (see https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/college-football/article-15317033/uab-football-player-stabs-teammates.html.) The photo is unforgettable with mean expression, wild hairdo, and incongruously formal attire. The names of his victims have not been published yet (why not?), so it remains to be seen whether this is a black-on-white stabbing or merely a disagreement between "brothas."
Alabama-Birmingham functions mainly as a commuter school for local blacks whose grades and entrance exams were too low for Tuscaloosa. There's an unintentionally hilarious video on YouTube of a black-on-black brawl inside the UAB student cafeteria. Not my kind of school.

White guys aren't allowed payback after black players hit them with dirty shots in the NBA, this play and reaction of the refs and announcers are yet another example:

I see this sort of thing happen in the NBA quite often, black players may get penalized for the more overt stuff, which they do way more often the Whites, but the little stuff they do often gets ignored by the refs.
In this case the black guy blocked the shot but followed through and snapped Sheppard's head back with a hard sweeping blow to the head, then an angry Sheppard, for good reason, hooked the black guy's foot and tripped him. That head shot was completely unnecessary, but you know it was deliberate because the black guy briefly stood over Sheppard taunting him so you could tell it was a "I got one on you Whitey" shot. Then when an understandably PO'd Sheppard tried to get a little payback, the black guy let him know: "I can do sh***t to you Whitey, but don't you dare do anything back"
Interestingly, and not surprisingly, the White commentators immediately took the black guys side but the black commentator was the one who pointed out that the black guy hit Sheppard first with a dirty shot. I don't think the White guys would have even noticed it, even though it was too obvious to miss, they just didn't want to see it. The refs are all in on this, calling a foul on Sheppard but somehow not noticing the blatant, and dangerous, blow to his head.
No white Bronco slo-mo chase down I-65. No too-small glove for a courtroom stunt. The only thing he's got going in his favor is the Birmingham jury pool in his favor.

Refs shouldn't have gotten involved at all--except maybe sneak Sheppard a set of brass knuckles,lol. The view of the block and head punch was not good camera work(difficult to see.)
