TCM shows Battleground (1949) sunday morning at 5:45 ET, as part of Oscar Month.
A key scene of the film which we have discussed is a chaplain, portrayed by Leon Ames, asking, "Was This Trip Necessary?"
My father, a WWII veteran of the ETO, approved this scene and the film as being how it was.

Who celebrates "Oscar month" anymore? They must be in complete denial of the state of movie making these days--unless you've been fed Marvel garbage since childhood. Then it's all you know and wang to see.
