Attacker was reportedly looking for Nancy but attacked her husband because she wasn't there.
Attacker has been arrested but police have not released his (or her) identity.

Amazing he survived as long as he did, even by rock star standards he lived a wild and self destructive lifestyle. For me, there was always something real, authentic and earthy about the way he sang and played, elements that seem to be absent in modern music. The World Series starts tonight between Houston and Philly--two of the most violent cities in America.
The Series is a yawner,but the minority crime in the cities participating should be interesting to track.Does it increase or decrease during the Fall Classic?
I'll try to keep track of the murders in each city the night the games are played.

We're here with the police chiefs of the two cities participating in this World Series of Murder--Danielle Outlaw from Philadelphia and Troy Finner(both black)from Houston.What's your strategy for winning the the Fall Classic for your particular cities?
Finner:Well,you know,it takes a city full of lawless blacks,Mexicans and other non-Whites--who will kill each other with guns,knives and--yes--baseball bats.I look forward to the competition,but I believe Houston can win.
GRA:What about you in Philly?
Outlaw:We don't have as many Mexicans in Philly as there are in Houston...
Finner:You braggin' or complainin'?
Outlaw:...so there's a certain element missing,which might hinder us--plus the weather is colder now up north--which usually means less negro murders.We're the underdogs fo' sure,but you never know in events like this.

Interestingly,as I looked up some murder stats,there was a story written by an AP hack,stating that this is the first World Series without one "homegrown" black being on either team's roster since 1950.There's Mex--but no blacks.
Of course,the reporter who brought it up,did so to cry about it.Ben Walker--an older White guy wrote the thing.
Maybe a WS worth watching after all.
