The Right to Keep and Bear Arms: USA Today Keeps Running Polls, Until It Can Get the “Correct” Result

Visit the cartoon page of the incomparable Baloo here, and his gift page here.

I am reprinting this from Ex-Army Libertarian Nationalist, as per his suggestion, as well as ripping off the classic Baloo cartoon he used to accompany it.

When I voted in support of the right to keep and bear arms, 10,543,639 votes had been cast, 97 percent of which said "yes," two percent said "no," and one percent was "undecided."

USA Today may have to keep running this thing, until its commissars can rig the result they want.

At Ex-Army, a very intelligent reader named Luke got too metaphysical for his own good, and commented:
VERY badly worded question. The Bill of Rights doesn't "give" us ANY rights; it specifies certain things that the GOVERNMENT can't do

And six minutes later,
Makes me wonder if they worded it that way intentionally... knowing the truth, my choices are to answer "no" or not answer.

I responded,

You’re right, Luke, but that didn’t even occur to me while voting “yes.” But even if you support the 2A, you still have to vote “yes,” because otherwise they will present you as saying the opposite of what you mean. This is USA Today you’re dealing with, so:

1. They have no concept of natural rights to liberty; and
2. They’re morons.

Just received this in the e-mail.

Do go there and click.

TAKES 7 SECONDS ... PLEASE DO IT AND PASS IT ON

Guess they were not happy with the poll results the first time, so USA today is running another one ... Vote now

Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro-gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

Here's what you need to do:

First - vote on this one.

Second - Send it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.
