“…With your style and your grace and your elegance.”
That was Robin Roberts yesterday on Good Morning America, without a touch of irony or sarcasm, to “Lady Gaga.”
Even with more layers of makeup on than a Ninth Avenue streetwalker, the alleged singer looked horrid. Her style in clothing is typically gross. It looked like she was wearing the world’s biggest throw pillow. Does Elton John design her get-ups?
At one point, Roberts referred to co-host George Stephanopoulos as “straight-laced,” but said that even he liked “Gaga.”
George Stephanopoulos is a lefty. He was Bill Clinton’s press secretary. According to Abigail and Stephan Thernstrom, in America in Black and White, Stephanopoulos was so ruthless in his political loyalty, that he and his comrade, Christopher Edley, “nullif[ied] Supreme Court rulings” limiting affirmative action with impunity. Stephanopoulos’ GMA gig was a reward for services rendered to the cause.
And Roberts is on the same page with him. Before she got her GMA giog, she did sports. When the American women’s soccer team won the 1999 Women’s World Cup, Roberts made the ludicrous statement that Title IX had made the women’s victory possible. Roberts, too, is a leftwing ideologue.
Yes, things are that politicized on TV.
Thus, in Robin Roberts’ hands, “straight-laced” is a fake term meant to deceive her audience into thinking that some sick manifestation of contemporary decadence is actually perfectly normal.
