lawsuit against birthright citizenship e.o. starts in seattle; 400,000 illegal births a year are occurring
GRA: I wonder how a Seattle judge will rule on this (sarcasm).
“(King-tv) Seattle — a federal judge in Seattle is set to hear the first arguments thursday in a multi-state lawsuit seeking to block President Donald Trump’s executive order ending the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship regardless of the parents’ immigration status.
“U.S. district judge John Coughenour scheduled the session to consider the request from arizona, illinois, oregon and Washington. the case is one of five lawsuits being brought by 22 states and a number of immigrants [sic] rights groups across the country. the suits include personal testimonies from attorneys general who are U.S. citizens by birthright, and names pregnant women who are afraid their children won’t become U.S. citizens.
“the order, signed by Trump on inauguration day, is slated to take effect on feb. 19. it could impact hundreds of thousands of people born in the country, according to one of the lawsuits. in 2022, there were about 255,000 births of citizen [sic] children to mothers living in the country illegally and about 153,000 births to two such parents, according to the four-state suit filed in Seattle.
“the Trump administration argued in papers filed wednesday that the states don’t have grounds to bring a suit against the order and that no damage has yet been done, so temporary relief isn’t called for. the administration’s attorneys also clarified that the executive order only applies to people born after feb. 19, when it’s set to take effect.”
GRA: Those millions who were born here the past 5 years—and illegal parents—need to be deported.

"REAGAN JUDGE" HALTS IMPLEMENTATION OF BORTHRIGHT EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR 14 DAYS.
CNN
—
A federal judge said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship was “blatantly unconstitutional” and issued a temporary restraining order to block it.
Judge John Coughenour, a Ronald Reagan appointee who sits in Seattle, granted the request by Washington Attorney General Nick Brown and three other Democratic-led states for the emergency order halting implementation of the policy for the next 14 days while there are more briefings in the legal challenge.
“I have been on the bench for over four decades. I can’t remember another case whether the question presented was as clear,” Coughenour said.
“Where were the lawyers” when the decision to sign the executive order was made, the judge asked. He said that it “boggled” his mind that a member of the bar would claim the order was constitutional.
(A "Reagan judge"?Wasn't Reagan FOR immigration?)
The Democratic-led states are seeking a temporary restraining order, as they argue that Trump’s executive order is a blatant violation of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to all children born on US soil “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”
GRA:SCOTUS will decide.MAYBE 8-1 against, but fingers are crossed for an epiphany by Trump's appointees.
