“Peace Without Victory”: “How President Nixon Mastered the Most Dangerous Middle East Conflict”

Re-posted by N.S.

“Peace without victory.” Thank you so much for posting this. In four minutes, the President gave us a master class on “the Big Game.”

“I love how everyone in these comments is just acting like watergate never happened lmao, literally the biggest controversy any president has EVER had but we act like it didn’t happen”

N.S.: I’m not acting as if watergate never happened. Do let us talk about watergate!

The watergate “controversy” entailed a criminal conspiracy within the offices of the washington post, led by its crypto-communist executive editor, Ben Bradlee, with its fake reporters, cia asset Bob Woodward and red diaper baby Carl Bernstein, conspiring further with fbi number 2 man, W. Mark Felt (later dubbed by Woodward and Bernstein “deep throat”), who fed them classified documents, in order to try and topple Felt’s own boss, out of Felt’s rage at being passed over for the head job, and Woodward and Bernstein to breach the secrecy of the watergate grand jury, in order to undo the 1972 election.

And so, not only was none of the real criminals involved, Bradlee, Felt, Woodward or Bernstein, imprisoned, they got glory, fraudulent Pulitzer Prizes, at least one vicarious Oscar (Bradlee), and millions of dollars (Woodward and Bernstein) out of their crimes. And who said, crime doesn’t pay?

99% of the people speaking into a microphone in a government building are lying. The trick is to identify the 1% who aren't.

Not even close almost as bad as 1973. I assume this bllinken is talking about the Hamas war Israel was in big trouble in 1973 and the option to use atomic weapons may have been considered, although never used.
