bLACK who oversaw "non-profit" made plenty of profit by embezzling $44 million over 10 years--in detroit; finally arrested
"detroit (ap) — a [black] man accused of stealing $44 million from a detroit nonprofit group pleaded guilty friday to financial crimes that stunned the organization and forced some delays in a major riverfront project.

For years, William Smith controlled the money at the detroit riverfront conservancy, which is transforming miles of shore along the detroit river into recreation space, with plazas, pavilions and parks.
“'we are pleased to see Will Smith begin to be held accountable for his disgraceful actions,” Chief Executive Ryan Sullivan said. Smith, 52, was arrested in June. Investigators said the chief financial officer routinely used money from the Riverfront Conservancy for travel, hotels, limousines, household goods, clothing and jewelry. He had side gigs in real estate, a nightclub and amateur basketball.
Smith pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering during an appearance in Detroit federal court, acknowledging that the group’s loss was at least $44 million. He could face more than 15 years in prison when he returns to court in March.

“'Mr. Smith’s deceitful actions, which spanned for more than a decade, not only broke the trust of his employer but the entire community,' said Cheyvoryea Gibson, who leads the FBI in Detroit.”
GRA: Cheyvoryea--rhymes with diarrhea. (What race is SHE?) I'll bet, Smith is not the only profit-maker in this scheme. Cheyvoryea better not quit with Smith in this investigation.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids City Manager Mark Washington has been named one of the four semifinalists to be the next Dallas city manager.
The Dallas Morning News reports Washington was among more than 50 people who applied for the position, which was vacated in May.
In a statement sent to News 8 on Monday, Washington said this is the first job he’s applied for since coming to Grand Rapids in 2018.
Search firm Baker Tilly has interviewed Washington and the three other semifinalists, including Interim Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert. The Dallas City Council will select finalists by Nov. 25, the Dallas Morning News reports, interview them in January and put forth a job offer by Jan. 17.
GRA:He was in Austin before coming here,six years ago--you can have him back. Washington turned this city into a mex sanctuary,allowed black crime and murders to hit new heights and oversaw the decline of the neighborhoods of this once decent city--teaming with outgoing lib mayor Rosalynn Bliss.
