THERE'S a couple mid to late 60s famous flicks that I was too young to see and probably wouldn't have understood in the least--at the time

I thought "Cat Ballou" was one of the WORST movies I ever saw in my life- I tried twice to watch it, and both times turned it off at the exact same spot (a horrible attempt at silent-comedy-type slapstick combined with ghastly "balladeering" by a pair of unfunny ogres)! Silverstein seemed to belong to a handful of directors who did excellent TV work and then weren't so hot making features. -RM

Back in the day,"Cat Ballou" was on the "nbc Saturday night at the movies" fairly often and it was one of my dad's favorites--he never missed it.All I'd hear is,"Cat Ballou's on tonight"--late 60s,early 70s.

If you didn't go to the neighborhood theater, the Saturday and Sunday movies of the week was where you saw them--no VCRs or DVDs.

And you know what?It was fine.
