Community activist.
Puerto Rican virgin.
Monogamous homosexual.
Why do they all sound alike?
Asking for a friend.
"SAN ANTONIO — Dr. Carey Latimore, a beloved professor at Trinity University has died, according to the university.
The university announced that the beloved professor died July 26.
[No cause of death provided (he was only 46), and the repeated emphasis on how "beloved" he was unwittingly underscores that he was no legitimate scholar or professor. "Beloved" by whom, pray tell?]
"Dr. Latimore joined Trinity in 2004 bringing passion and expertise in black history along with knowledge about the African American experience, the university said in a statement. He served as the chair
of the Department of History for nine years until 2020 and was the co-director of the African American studies minor, the university said.
[The first sentence is repetitious--everything after "history" is superfluous--and unwittingly underscores that he was an affirmative action hire.]
"Dr. Latimore was deeply embedded in the community holding several other titles such as a minister at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church, a member of the Alamo Museum Planning Committee, Alamo Citizens Management
Committee, Philippine American Chamber of Commerce and more.
"Dr. Latimore was also a supporter of Trinity's Black Student Union and Phi Alpha Theta honor society saying, "to see them work through difficult topics continues to inspire me. The opportunity to be a part
of their growth is the greatest blessing that any professor could have.”
[English translation: He was racist to the bone.]
"Mayor Ron Nirenberg expressed his sympathy on twitter saying "Carey followed the beacon of truth wherever it led, as a scholar, a teacher, a preacher and a friend. I will miss him dearly."

"His most recent book, Unshakable Faith: African American Stories of Redemption, Hope, and Community, which was released in January, details the spiritual journeys of well-known and lesser-known black Americans
throughout history who occasionally attained [?] across philosophical divides for the benefit of the community. He does this for the purpose of bringing unity to black Americans."
[N.S.: My emphasis.]
N.S. The last obit above suggested that Latimore died of cancer, and reported that his widow has emphatically refused to speak to the media.

"...deeply embedded in the community..." Nice turn of phrase. Makes him sound like the parasite he probably was.
Sounds like he died of virulent sanctimony.
