nigs fight on stage at academy awards—Will Smith assaults Chris Rock

GRA: I didn’t watch it, but read about it. blacks acting black in front of a couple million viewers.

Things at the 2022 Oscars got heated when Will Smith confronted Chris Rock onstage after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

(hollywood reporter) Don’t mess with Will Smith.

Chris Rock learned that lesson during the Oscars 2022 ceremony on Sunday, March 27, when the king richard< star confronted him onstage after he had made a dig at Jada Pinkett Smith, who struggles with alopecia. The heated exchange came after Rock, 57, made a reference to Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, joking, “Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it, all right?”

As the audience fell silent, Rock quipped, “That was a nice one, okay?”

Smith, 53, then marched to the stage and appeared to slap the comedian in the face. When he returned to his seat, Rock quipped, “Wow, Will Smith just smacked the s—t out of me!”

However, the spat didn’t end there. Smith then yelled at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—king mouth.”

“Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke,” Rock replied, to which the actor yelled at him again: “Yes, keep my wife’s name out of your f—king mouth.”

The saturday night live alum then assured Smith that he’s “going to” before segueing to the Best Documentary segment. He told the audience, “That was a greatest night in the history of television.”

GRA: Will Smith has cheated on Pinkett Smith so often, that it’s probably why she has alopecia.

That was Chris Rock doing a Don Rickles riff. Question: Would Smith have smacked Rickles, too (and killed him?) for saying something similar, if Don were still around? Rickles used to jokingky tell Isabel Sanford to clear the tables at the Dean Martin Roast—maid’s work—or tell Nipsey Russell he’s overdoing the black thing—too dark.

Could he have gotten away with such a mild joke about Pinkett Smith’s hair?

N.S.: GRA, it’s just as well that Rickles is gone. There’s no place in this world for him.

I think it's been said,"the times make the people--the people make the times."

I tried doing a search for the quote, but came up with nothing.

Anyways,I used to think--back in Don's later years--when he would be a guest on Fallon--and the audience wouldn't be as responsive as they were when he appeared on Letterman or(previous to that)Carson,Dean Martin etal.,that insult humor was HIS thing--he was the last of the species. There had been a few others before him--including Bob Hope.Hope would make lots of jabs about Danny Thomas's nose for example--as well as his own.Benny was cheap, blonde actresses were "ditzy". In fact, impressionists like Rich Little and Frank Gorshin had acts BASED on making light of celebrities physical appearances and voice mannerisms and exaggerating them.

That's another thing missing today(not coincidentally)--the impersonator--unless it's to insult Trump or Ted Cruz(but not celebrities). To impersonate someone is to lightly make fun of them--which is not allowed by the woke mob. But if Jackie Mason,Alan King,Dean Martin's roasts or Rickles were around,it WOULD be allowed. They're dead--so it isn't--which is why I attempt to bring "Don Rickles" back every now and then--to show that he COULD thrive in any generation.

Chris Rock tried to do the same thing--"bring back" a little bit of Rickles' style of humor and Will Smith--representing the uptight left--drew a line. There should have been security to stop Smith--though who would have expected an assault on stage?Nowadays(especially with blacks),you have to expect anything.

Smith has either put another nail in the coffin of humor--or there'll be a backlash against Smith's attempt at censorship--BY COMEDIANS.I have my money on the former, but I'm rooting for the latter.

HOWARD STERN SAYS,"WILL SMITH IS MENTALLY INSANE."

(Page 6)Howard Stern was “disturbed” by Will Smith’s assault on Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, and argues that the “King Richard” actor must suffer from mental illness.

“This is a sign of great mental illness when you can’t control your impulse. Not only that, it was hardly an insulting joke. It was not even a good joke,” Stern, 68, said on his SiriusXM Show on Monday, referring to Rock’s jab at Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head.

“The joke, quite frankly, was beneath Chris Rock. It was a throwaway. ‘You look like G.I. Jane.’”

Stern argued that what fans saw on TV was “a guy who’s got real issues.”

“He didn’t think twice about what he was about to do,” he said. “Now that’s crazy, when you can’t contain yourself like that.”

The radio host claimed that Rock — whom he described as a “gentle soul” and “not a fighter” — was just trying to do his job and Smith is “clearly insane.”

Most entertaining thing I've ever seen on the Oscars, but I can't help but have a faint suspicion it was staged by Rock and Smith, I mean, maybe in their minds they were doing something that was like "for real" and shaking up the stodgy awards show in a way it never has been, well, except maybe for when Brando had that Indian girl appear in his place. Smith did have kind of a smile on his face that didn't look like a truly enraged guy. It was kind of Andy Kauffmanesque.

CHRIS ROCK CONCERT TICKET PRICES SOAR AS ACADEMY MULLS PUNISHMENT;ROCK IS NOT COMMENTING PUBLiCLY(YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS TO HEAR IT IN PERSON).

(Daily Mail) A letter leaked Tuesday night, signed by Academy president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson, states that the 'Academy's Board of Governors will now make a determination on appropriate action for Mr. Smith.'

The group's Board of Governors are also planning an emergency meeting Wednesday evening to discuss the incident and possible punishments.

Smith faces a range of outcomes, including forcing him to hand back his Oscar to the most severe punishment - suspension from the Academy - which would put Smith among the ranks of Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, who were both expelled for sexual misconduct.

Rock hasn't weighed in on whether the 'King Richard' actor should face any repercussions for the on-stage attack, and stayed tight-lipped while arriving in Boston this week ahead of a six-show slate at the Wilbur.

Ticket prices for Rock's 'Ego Death' World Tour soared into the thousands as demand for seats spiked after Smith march on stage during the live show Sunday and smacked the stunned comedian across the face.

Tickets on Stubhub are listed between $125 and $399. On Vividseats, tickets are listed between $244 and $1,150. And on TickPick, tickets are listed between $307 and $1,463.

After arriving in Boston Tuesday, Rock was seen again later that night leaving Boston Hotel with his entourage, as he exited through a side door and immediately got into his waiting vehicle. He was thought to be headed to the Wilbur theater for rehearsals ahead of now sold-out shows.

Rock will perform six shows at the Wilbur this week at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.

Tickets for all shows are sold out, but tickets through third party distributors reportedly are available.

TickPick sold more tickets overnight following the Oscars than they did in the past month combined, TickPick said wrote in a statement to the Boston Globe.

Ticket prices for the shows skyrocketed 600 percent overnight, they added. The cheapest ticket was sold for $46 on March 18 - and now the lowest price is about $300.

When announcing the tour in February, Rock said on his Instagram: 'Ego Death World Tour 2022 all new material introspective very personal and very funny. Can’t wait to show you.'

Attendees will be hoping that he has updated material by the time the first show on Wednesday comes around to address Sunday night's drama.

LAUGH OF THE DAY:WHOOPIE SAYS,"DON'T JUDGE ALL BLACKS BY WILL SMITH."

GRA:No,just all the ones in prison and the ones who SHOULD be in prison, but as N.S. says,"get free crimes."

(ABC)In the third consecutive day of ABC’s The View kicking off the show with a discussion of Will Smith’s Oscar slap of Chris Rock, moderator (and Oscar Board of Governors member) Whoopi Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin decried public debate that focuses on Smith’s race.

“People keep saying, oh, they’re going to think of black people the wrong way,'” said Goldberg. “Well, let me tell you, they should be looking at us and saying, Oh, ok [Rock] didn’t indulge.’ There’s nothing wrong with what [Rock] did so there’s no reason for anybody to have any issue with black people. You have an issue with Will Smith and what he did. He doesn’t represent every black person on the planet.”

GRA:Rock should have moved--QUICKLY.He acted black in another way--he was STUPID. He stood there and trusted Smith(like a White liberal would also)and took a punch for no reason.

Hostin then said she’s heard from friends who worry that the Oscar slap “plays into the narrative that black people are inherently violent and black men in particular are dangerous and scary and ‘if Will Smith behaves like that then oh my goodness that’s where black people are.’ I reject that, I reject that. What Will Smith did was immature and it was childish and and it was violent but that was on Will Smith and no one else.”

GRA:black propaganda. Are we supposed to believe Whoopie isn't a blimp--even though that fact is obvious too?

Sure Whoopie, don't judge all blacks by the actions of a few but it's perfectly OK to hold all Whites responsible for the acts of a few from hundreds of years ago. F you Whoopie
