One a popular saying was, "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!" That was because Boeing quality was trusted. Then they did a bargain basement "kluge" job on the 737 Max and two planeloads of passengers perished. Among the cost-cutting was hiring cheap Indian programmers. And remember when these brainiacs tried to make a world plane assembled out of parts made everywhere? Like the Tower of Babel, these planes of Babel suffered from parts that didn't fit together. Now, having thrown away decades of trust and good will, the geniuses managing Boeing now want affirmative action workers to build the planes. I suppose these "diverse" workers will make the planes more "vibrant." Problem is passenger don't want exciting "vibrant" plane rides--they want safety and security. Soon the saying will be, "It's Boeing, I ain't going!"
"Kluge"?
Kluge: "a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem"--according to the Free Dictionary. This is the kind of term technical types use. I first heard this term when an engineer at Los Alamos Labs was examining a bad plumbing job--"a real kluge job." Another term for something crudely stuck together is "(N-word) rigged" A friend of Irish ethnicity called such things "Irish-Afro Engineering."
Thanks. I wonder what the origins are. In German, "klug" means clever.
