N.S.: Trump’s response to the backstabbers conspiring to run him out of office in a putsch, is to sharpen the knife for them.
Let me guess—he thinks he’s being super clever, and outsmarting his enemies.
I am convinced that Trump saw The Godfather Part II, and took away from it the wrong lesson. That cute line that Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) quotes from his late father, Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando)—“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” is cute, but stupid. It led to him hiring the likes of Reince Priebus, John Kelly, and H.R. McMaster.
Keep close tabs on your enemies, but do not let them in your house.
A much better line from that picture is from the great speech that Hyman Roth (based on Meyer Lansky, and played by Lee Strasberg) gives about the late Moe Green (based on Bugsy Siegel, and played in the first picture by Alex Rocco): “This is the business we’ve chosen.”
The speech is a bookend to the dialogue in the first picture, where Michael insists that killing the Irish police captain McCluskey (Sterling Hayden), who had led a detachment of assassins to murder The Don, and who broke Michael’s jaw, when the latter put the kibosh on the assassination is “strictly business, nothing personal.”
Both speeches are exercises in misdirection, in which the gentlemen doth protest too much. Michael Corleone’s murder of Capt. McCluskey is purely personal. Likewise, Hyman Roth’s talk about “business” is to veil the love and grief he feels for Moe Green, and the homicidal rage he feels towards Michael, whom he unsuccessfully seeks to murder.
However, saving President Trump’s battered presidency is going to take more than his getting his understanding of the first two Godfather pictures straight.

ZH has a story I could see coming when O'Reilly departed.Does the left win again?
Sean Hannity Takes "Abrupt Vacation" Amid Advertiser Boycott
Is Fox News about to lose its last remaining "old school" anchor holdout?
According to Philly.com, Hannity is taking "a couple days off amid a growing advertiser boycott" over Hannity's pursuit of the Seth Rich story - an parallel to Bill O'Reilly's final days - and so far, seven advertisers are said to have pulled out of Hannity’s show.
Cars.com was the first advertiser to announce it was pulling ads, telling Buzzfeed News on Wednesday afternoon that “we’ve been watching closely and have recently made the decision to pull our advertising from Hannity.” It was followed by exercise bike company Peloton (which just closed a $325M Series E round financing), Leesa Sleep; mattress retailer Casper, insurance company USAA; home security equipment maker Ring and Crowne Plaza Hotels, all of which announced they would be redirecting their ad buys from Hannity’s shows.
Meanwhile, the Five host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who has confirmed speaking to the White House about potentially replacing press secretary Sean Spicer, will be filling in on Hannity on Thursday and Friday.
GRA:Not much to watch on FOX anymore...Hannity leaving should wrap the network up as a political voice,or as the liberals would say,"Mission Accomplished."

The President has to decide what he wants to do.I thought he did,but appears to be prone to bending and manipulation.
Negotiate yes,but don't reverse 180°.
If Trump were viewing his presidency as a third person,he might tweet one word:
"Sad".
