BLACK SHOOTS BATTLE CREEK POLICE OFFICER THREE TIMES--ESCAPES
(FOX 17NEWS)BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police are looking for a man after a police officer was shot three times while responding to calls of children screaming at a house.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Cherry Street at 1:16 a.m. on Saturday for a report of children screaming, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.
Police believed they saw a suspect with 9 warrants from Calhoun County, mainly for assaults and failure to appear in court(ho hum,right?) but people at the house said everything was fine and would not let them in.
Andre Yarbrough and his vehicle were identified at the house so several officers stayed to monitor the house and at about 2:30 a.m. BCPD Officer Jeffrey Johnson called out that Yarbrough was fleeing, both he and Yarbrough fired gunshots and Johnson was found on the ground near the garage with three gunshot wounds -- to his left leg, left chest and a graze to his wrist.
Johnson was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital where he was stabilized before being transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Officers at the scene applied a tourniquet to his leg and doctors believe this plus a bulletproof vest saved the officer's life.
Johnson was listed in stable condition later Saturday and was immediately taken into surgery.
No other officers fired. Police believe Yarbrough may be injured.
The suspect managed to run away and officers found a 9mm handgun at the scene, though they're not sure if the suspect is still armed.
Police are now looking for Andre Durrell Yarbrough as a person of interest in this incident. Yarbrough is a 30-year-old black man, 5’11” tall and 165 pounds.
BCPD officers, Michigan State Police, as well as Emmett Township and Calhoun County law enforcement are part of the search.
BCPD Chief Jim Blocker said police believe Yarbrough remains in the area and do not believe there is a danger to the community(how can THAT be true?)
GRA:I'd wager that police could go door to door in black neighborhoods and pick up 70% of them for warrants and or/failure to appear or parole violations.Most blacks have illegal activities going on at all times,whether it be drug dealing,gang stuff,scams,illegal possession of firearms,previous crime warrants etc.I'd like to see the cops do a sweep of an entire area,just to see the roaches run around in a panic to evade police.

His "indigenous" family? So now Kaepernick is Native American? I thought he was half black and half white. Isn't this cultural appropriation? I posted the below on Foxnews comments, got an immediate half a dozen likes or so but it was quickly deleted. Foxnews is following the trend of monitoring comments and deleting anything deemed "offensive", too bad, it was one of the few major news outlets you could comment freely, but no more.

Where do you get the idea that blacks and Native Americans have some parallel interest Kaepernick? As far as Native Americans are concerned Africans are as much invaders to their land as white Europeans. Right now uncounted millions of black Africans want to migrate to the US (and Europe) but are held back by immigration controls. Do you think that Native Americans want those controls to be loosened? No, they don't, I guarantee it. If your ancestors were brought here involuntarily as a black it doesn't change the fact that if you achieve political "consciousness" and understand you don't really belong here, then you will do the right thing and return to your ancestral homeland and leave the country to the original inhabitants. Maybe Native Americans have legitimate gripes but their (unrealistic) wish to rid the country of newcomers includes getting rid of you and your people Kaepernick. With that in mind then why aren't you and your fellow black "activists" returning to Africa and refusing to be a part of the "occupation" of America, Colin?

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — After searching for him for more than 12 hours, authorities say the man accused of shooting a Battle Creek police officer is in custody.
Battle Creek Police Department says 30-year-old Andre Yarbrough was found at an apartment around 4:20 p.m. Saturday.
Officer Jeffrey Johnson, the officer who was shot, has substantial injuries, but he is expected to make a full recovery, Battle Creek Police Chief Jim Blocker said.
Investigators say a Silent Observer tip sent police to the apartment. A K-9 searched the apartment and found Yarbrough in a closet. He refused to come out, so the dog pulled him out, according to the BCPD.
Officers say Yarbrough was then searched and handcuffed with Johnson’s handcuffs. He will be lodged in the Calhoun County Jail and charged with assault with intent.
Officers responded to 310 Cherry St. in Battle Creek just after 1:15 a.m. Saturday, where children were heard screaming from the home, authorities said. Officers say they believe they saw Yarbrough, who has multiple warrants out of Calhoun and St. Joseph counties — including several for assault — inside the home. People at the house would not let officers inside.
Around 2:30 a.m., Yarbrough left the home, Johnson approached him and gunfire was exchanged, Blocker said. Johnson was shot once in the leg, hitting his femur; once in the chest, where the bullet lodged in his bullet-proof vest; and once in the wrist.

Police believe Johnson fell to the ground after he was shot in the leg. Blocker said they believe Yarbrough shot Johnson in the chest while standing over him(GRA:Attempted execution).

Nine warrants and the man was still out? They must not have been looking hard enough. You would have thought his record would make for fast-track apprehension.
It does surprise me somewhat that a city of the size of Battle Creek would have a significant population of negroes. I guess some connection to the auto industry at one time.
