Myles Garrett is using the "he called me a nigger" defense. He has accused white QB Mason Rudolph of using a racial slur before their fight on the field: https://sports.yahoo.com/report-myles-garrett-said-mason-rudolph-used-racial-slur-before-brawl-183523150.html
Of course it's a lot trickier to accuse a white man of hurling a racial slur on a football field when you are surrounded by plenty of witnesses, most of them black (something that didn't dawn on bell curver Garrett), and in this case, nobody else heard this alleged slur so the NFL has announced that if found no evidence that Mason Rudolph used a racial slur.

Below is the video of the fight. You can clearly see what instigated the fight, Garrett extended the tackle well beyond what was necessary and Rudolph reacted, which any other player would have done, in the scuffle his fingers got caught in Garrett's face mask and his helmet got slightly pulled off, then Garrett grabbed Rudolph's helmet and pulled it off deliberately, swinging it and hitting Rudolph on the head. Now he's trying to justify it by playing the "N word defense". The racist is Garrett.

They will feel more comfortable among the Mexican. Speak the same language, eat the same food, etc. More comfortable than among the racist gringo.

You beat me to it Jerrypdx.
Typical and very predictable excuse by Garrett.
Now I read this morning that Rudolph is being fined $50,000 for his part in the melee.I hear though, that if he had been killed, the NFL would have only fined Rudolph $25,000.
