Jussie in big time trouble and should be. The police are "reaching out" to Jussie. They need to go seize him and do the perp walk and all that with full publicity. That is what Jussie craves anyhow, the publicity.

New Jersey Senator Corey Booker, after initially labeling the Jussie Smollet hoax a "modern day lynching", has no apology for his rush to judgment. Here is his public statement:

We know in America that bigoted and biased attacks are on the rise in a serious way, and we actually even know in this country that since 9/11, the majority of the terrorist attacks on our soil have been right-wing terrorist attacks -- the majority of them white supremacist attacks."

Like the Covington boys, many who initially jumped on the bandwagon are staying silent but some, like Booker, are doubling down. I can hear the excuses already, here are a few I think we'll hear:

Doesn't matter what he did, what matters is the message he was sending

What Jussie did doesn't matter because statistics prove that hate crimes are up so that's what we should be focusing on.

It's the pressure of living with racism and bigotry in America that pushed Jussie into doing this, so it's whitey's fault anyways.

It really happened, the white racist establishment is protecting the real perps, the Nigerian Uncle Toms were paid off to lie about Jussie.

Can anybody think of any more?
