Arrest made in UD sex assault

A man is arrested in connection with sexually assaulting a University of Delaware student on Halloween.

Police say Candido Tepoz of Mexico faces charges of second-degree rape.

The 19-year-old victim tells police Tepoz offered her a ride home, sexually assaulted her, and then dropped her off near a campus residence hall Halloween morning.

Police used surveillance video to find Tepoz's car and him. He was pulled over on Kirkwood Highway, where police say he gave a false name and was arrested.

Tepoz is being held at Howard Young prison on $65,000 bail.

Members of the University community are reminded to walk in groups whenever possible.
