Used to be two massive white oaks in the front yard. They were there when the house was built in 1959. So, easily two hundred years old.
The firm that bought the home from my father's estate cut the beautiful trees down.
And you know what else is different?
The wrought iron gate over the front door.
Used to be a storm door in front on the beautiful solid oak door that opened directly into the living room.
Why was the wrought iron gate added?
Because the neighborhood changed.
Used to be all white.
Now it's 98 percent black.
So, just as night follows day, crime of all types follows blacks.
And to think the home is located in Prince George's County, Maryland.

I had no idea you were from PG county. I grew up in and still live in Fairfax, Va but I have spent a large amount of time in Prince George's due to my job.
PG would be a great place to live due to its location and natural geographic beauty but the demographics make it unlivable as of now.
It's the only place in the DC metro suburbs where there is a constant physical threat to your well being. Oxon Hill is truly dangerous along with all other western parts of the county.
Your house looks like it's in Clinton or old Ft Washington.
