Jeffersonville police began investigating the funeral home early last july after the county coroner's office reported a strong odor emanating from the building. the unrefrigerated bodies were found in various states of decomposition, and some had been at
the director of a southern indiana funeral home where 31 decomposing bodies and the cremains [?] of 17 others were found pleaded guilty friday to more than 40 counts of felony theft.

I read a story like this about once a year. Seems to be a thing with black funeral parlors.
There was a case in TX where the customer had made a down payment on his father's funeral, but was slow coming up with the rest of the bill. So the black undertaker wrapped up his father's naked body in a bedsheet, put it in the back of his pickup, and dumped it out on the guy's front porch while he was at work.
