Why not call it what it is?

Racial profiling.

NOT only is done and has been for some time but IS THOUGHT AND PRESENTED AS TO BE DESIRABLE. Most of those admitted I can expect either drop out because of the work required or don't make it through in four years, etc. Admit them to pad entrance and admissions statistics but never track the final outcome. Etc.

And too when a student admitted under less than stringent requirement expect their standing in the graduating class to be in the lower 10 % or so.
