Ann Coulter: Jeanne Shaheen's Ebola Opportunities Team

Jeanne Shaheen's Ebola Opportunities Team

In this year's midterm elections, New Hampshire's Scott Brown is taking on the slickest Democratic politician since John Edwards.

Incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen presents herself as a regular mom who "rearranges the dishes in the dishwasher if it is packed by someone else" -- as she told The Boston Globe when she ran for governor.

But then she backs policies that only Fidel Castro's mom would like. (And based on her immigration stance, I think we all know it's her Guatemalan maid who's packing the dishwasher.)

Shaheen took the Anti-Tax Pledge in her first run for governor. (That's governor of New Hampshire, not Missouri, where she grew up, or Pennsylvania, where she was high school prom queen -- as she also confessed to The Boston Globe.) Within a few years, a Washington anti-tax group had ranked Shaheen as one of the nation's "biggest tax hikers and proposers," along with Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont.

As a U.S. senator, Shaheen co-sponsored a nakedly partisan bill to prevent Republicans from filibustering anything put forward by the majority Democratic Senate, despite that body's historical role as the place where hot passions go to die. Shaheen's bill was so contrary to the deliberative spirit of the Senate that even liberal Democrat Sen. Chris Dodd opposed it.

At least you can count on a hard-core lefty like Shaheen to be squeaky-clean. Oh, wait -- Shaheen's husband, William, set up a "stimulus opportunities team" to apply for government money under the stimulus bill supported by his senator-wife. I wonder if sharing a name with a U.S. senator helped him attract clients.

Both The Boston Globe and Annenberg's "Factcheck.org" indignantly denounce this fact by recycling a nonsense defense put out by the Shaheen family law firm. They dramatically reveal that the Shaheens didn't actually make much from the sleazy enterprise.

The amount of money they made is not the point. Mr. Shaheen traded on his wife's position as a U.S. senator to attract clients to a "stimulus opportunity team." Your honor, the vault was empty when we broke into it.

Most devastating for New Hampshire families, Shaheen told aggressive lies in order to pass Obamacare. She repeatedly promised New Hampshire voters that Obamacare would:

-- "let people keep their doctor and their insurance plan if they like it" (deliberate lie);

-- "expand coverage options for people who need it" (laughable lie);

-- "stabilize costs for families, businesses and our government" (cruel lie)

-- "by injecting competition in the insurance market." (breathtaking lie!)

And, she said, "We can do this without increasing our federal deficit." (You've got to be kidding me.)

As we now know, under the "Affordable Care Act," your only options are: (1) Take the crap-ass, high-priced/no doctor Obamacare plan; or (2) go bare, and risk being bankrupted by an expensive medical problem. Either way, the price will be astronomical.

And as you have surely heard by now, you absolutely, positively cannot keep your current health insurance. That is, unless your plan already covers acupuncture for transgendered illegal aliens with gambling addictions.

As for the deficit-busting qualities of this wildly expensive law, the Congressional Budget Office now projects that Obamacare is going to cost the federal government $92 billion a year.

But if Shaheen had told the truth, Obamacare never would have passed -- even in the sleazy manner it did. So she had to lie! What else could she do?

Demonstrating her willingness to say anything to win an election, this week Shaheen suddenly announced that she was for a travel ban on West Africa! And yet she hasn't made a peep about Obama's planned "executive amnesty" after the election.

That isn't right-wing paranoia. Would that it were! Obama has promised that, as soon as the midterms are over, he will welcome all of Latin America to the U.S. The administration is already requesting bids for the manufacture of 34 million new ID cards. Or as Obama calls it, "the first batch."

Several doctors have privately admitted that the enterovirus 68 that has already killed or paralyzed a dozen American children is coming from the border-surge kids. None will say it for attribution. They don't want to be audited by Obama's IRS.

The rest of us are supposed to act as if it's a huge mystery why no one had ever heard of this particular enterovirus until the border surge a few months ago.

On the other hand, Scott Brown seems to be your standard Massachusetts cosmopolitan gun controller; I wouldn't trust him no matter what his NRA rating.

What to do? I'm in Illinois, where our "Republican" Senator Kirk in a brain damaged RINO 100% anti-gunner. Kirk will NEVER get my vote.

So how are NH gun owners handling this? I've read that you are being overrun by MA communists who insist on bringing their gun control with them. You need to tell them they they are NOT welcome to NH.
