Something that's been ubiquitous for nearly 50 years is suddenly a big surprise?
Smoking "blunts" will do that to you.
Sorry, but white people have to get past this s---. And I'm not talking about the music.

Rock and roll(White music) was put out to pasture by the record companies 20 years ago,in the same way advertising, music,tv,comedy and news was handed to blacks as part of the(as I look back now) synchronized replacement of Whitey.

From his Cream days, so many other great songs came out of that group, this is just one. For all Clapton's "blues purist" posturing his best songs were ones he composed himself that were not "pure blues" songs. In his early yearas he preferred to be part of something, a sideman rather than being a solo guy. That's why he had Derek & The Dominos, Cream, Yardbirds, Bluesbreakers, and Blind Faith working with the likes of John Mayall, Duane Allman, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood. When he finally went solo his material was good but it never matched what he produced combining his talent with other luminaries. IMHO his early material exceeded even his "pure blues" stuff.

Usual suspect mass stabs 12 people in a Salem Union Gospel Mission. Watch the video as perp 41 yr. old Tony Latrine...er "Latrell" (sorry I couldn't help it) Williams plays every bit the oppressed negro victim:

He claims it was "self defense" but he's lying, as all negroes just naturally do. Somehow no fatalities though the last report I saw on the news said 5 are still in critical condition. Local news has interviewed most of the victims that were not seriously injured and they are all White. One of the victims say he was calling them every name in the book during the attack but he didn't say what kind of names. I'd be willing to bet anything there were some racial epithets in there somewhere, but as usual, victims, media & police will do everything possible to ignore any possible racial animus...cuz he black.
Here's the story,Jerry
(nbc noise)A man was in custody Monday after allegedly stabbing 12 people, including staffers and bystanders who intervened, at an Oregon homeless services provider, police said.
Five of the victims remained hospitalized in critical condition on Monday following the attack in Salem shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday, Salem Police Deputy Chief Treven Upkes said at a news conference. The rest had non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
The victims included two employees of the provider, Union Gospel Mission, and 10 people described as guests of the facility, Upkes said.
Police initially said 11 people had been injured in the attack, but on Monday the Salem Police Department said an additional victim was discovered as investigators interviewed witnesses.
Union Gospel Mission Executive Director Craig Smith said one of the two staff members was one of the patients in critical condition. He said the staffer underwent surgery. "He is now fighting for his life," Smith said.
A spokesperson for Salem Hospital said Monday that 11 of the 12 victims arrived at the facility, which added additional staff to treat them.
The suspect, seen on video surrendering to officers after the violence, was identified as Tony Latrell Williams, 42, of Bend, Oregon, Salem police said in a statement.
Williams was jailed Sunday, with no bail, on preliminary charges of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated harassment, according to Marion County Jail records. The Marion County District Attorney's Office will determine whether to move forward and, if so, what charges apply.
GRA:No race mentioned in this "elevated hate crime".

When Quincy Jones passed away, I posted a comment about how, when the NY Post ran an article (seemingly) celebrating the Billboard top ten hits being all black for the first time ever (late 90s?), he was quoted as saying "It's about time." And this from someone with an education in traditional music who was quite capable of composing in a white man's idiom (which he must have resented). This was around the same time rap was being shoved down everyone's throat while rock and everything else was being eased out of the picture, ensuring that a whole generation grew up hearing little else. Of course it was deliberate- I wish I had saved an article from Variety that showed sales of rap around that time were lower than easy listening music! And I remember also that MTV was forced to play it in regular rotation- their viewers didn't want it!

"Sex, drugs and rock-n-roll" be damned- if it's good music, you don't HAVE to get high to listen to it!
