Crisis in Memphis: Two Kids were Robbed of Their Bikes by Two Armed Teenagers in a Public Park, Despite It being a Gun-Free Zone!

In the accompanying video, reporter Melissa Moon emphasizes, with a straight face, that no firearms are permitted in the park in question, and the cameraman zooms in on a sign saying so.

I was going to re-post the embed code, but saw it was an ooyala video. Ooyala videos are notorious for autoplaying, which drives my readers and me nuts.

Note that the two suspects were reportedly charged with “two counts of aggravated robbery.” If one of them fired on the fleeing vics, then the charges should also include illegal possession of a weapon and attempted murder. But that’s affirmative action criminal justice in America, for you.

I just remembered the worst crime of all: Violating a gun-free zone!

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two juveniles who were held up at gunpoint for their bicycles over the weekend helped police make two arrests.

The armed robbery happened Sunday at Flowering Peach Park.

Police said the victims were riding their bikes in the park when Tadarious Smith, 18, and a 16-year-old pulled a gun on the boys and took their bikes.

Investigators said someone fired a shot at the victims as they ran away.

Officers said after the robbery the young victims and their mother drove around the neighborhood and spotted one of the suspects.

When police got to the neighborhood, they arrested Smith and the juvenile they said was with him and recovered the bikes and a gun.

The victims told police Smith was not the one holding the gun when they were robbed.

Smith and the 16-year-old arrested are both charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

Smiff is an adult. Smiff attacked juveniles with a gun in a public park for which in most locales which alone is an aggravated offense and you get three times the punishment. Don't wait too long for Smiff to serve all that time he justly deserves.

Smiff had a gun. Using a gun during a crime you are telling the other person you intend to kill them. Smiff can have the book thrown at him and more.
