THE GAMBLER 2025 by GRA
On a warm,winter's evenin',
When a jap named Ohtani,
IRS called "The Gambler",
Said,he was in it deep,
And the newscast it was blarin',
About a scandal in the makin',
The Gambler called his friend in,
The losses--they were steep.
He told friend, Mizuhara,
"It's true we both are gamblers,
Lots of yen were lost--sure,
Now we are out of luck,
So,if you don't mind my saying',
You admit to big time stealin',
And if you keep your mouth shut,
I'll give you some advice."
So he opened up a bottle,
Then they gulped down much more saki,
Got their stories straight as much,
As much as that they could,
Then Ohtani said in English,
"I don't need no damn translator,
So if you want to play the crime game,
You've got to learn to play it right."
You've got to know when to "Sho" them,
Know when to "Oh" them,
Know when to take the rap,
And know when to run,
You never go to prison,
When a sucker'll do that for you,
There'll be time enough for compin',
When your stretch is done.
