ceo of united healthcare shot dead in nyc
“(zh) nyc media outlet pix11 news has learned that the ceo of unitedhealthcare, the parent company of unitedhealth group incorporated, was shot and killed in midtown manhattan, just outside the Hilton hotel.
“‘multiple sources confirm to @pix11news that united healthcare ceo Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside the Hilton hotel in midtown just before 7 a.m., where he was slated to speak at a [sic] investor meeting later today,’ pix11’s Dan Mannarino wrote on x.
“police say, ‘it was a targeted shooting.’”
GRA: Yes, he was someone’s target and they shot him. Is this the first shot across the BROW of corporate big wigs? THAT would be an interesting development.

N.S.: Because the killer is White, and the way he was got up, I suspect a political motivation.

PEOPLE FLOCK TO SEE CHRISTMAS TREE IN NYC--NEAR SPOT OF CEO MURDER
(NY post)Tourists flocked to Rockefeller Center for the Christmas tree lighting Wednesday night, unfazed by an armed assassin on the loose after killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson around the corner hours earlier.
Thousands of visitors from all over the country and overseas stood in line for hours in hopes of getting a glimpse of the famous tree in Manhattan — just two blocks away from where the shocking murder was committed shortly before 7 a.m.
The tourists bundled up and sang along to performances by the Backstreet Boys and Kelly Clarkson as light flurries fell over the celebration before the tree lights were turned on at 10 p.m
GRA:When they write it up like that--"thousands from all over the country and overseas stood in line for hours in hopes of catching a glimpse of the famous tree"--makes it sound an utterly ridiculous idea. Hours?

"DELAY,DENY AND DEPOSE" INSCRIBED ON BULLETS RECOVERED AT SCENE OF CEO MURDER;"FORMER WAPO REPORTER CALLS FOR MORE MURDERS OF INSURANCE COMPANY CEOS."
Thursday, Dec 05, 2024 - 10:00 AM
(ZH)Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz encouraged people to kill health company executives just hours after the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
"And people wonder why we want these executives dead," Lorenz wrote on Bluesky in response to Thompson's murder.
Lorenz then posted an image of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Kim Keck.
"People have very justified hatred toward insurance company CEOs because these executives are responsible for an unfathomable amount of death and suffering," Lorenz said in another post. "As someone against death and suffering, I think it’s good to call out this broken system and the ppl in power who enable it."
Of note, bullet casings recovered at the scene of Brian Thompson's murder were inscribed with the words "Delay, Deny & Depose."
(GRA:Those words are meant to infer a revenge motive against Thompson for failed health coverage. That's possible, but it could also be a diversion from the true motive--whatever that is.)
"No s--- murder is bad. The jokes about the United CEO aren’t really about him; they’re about the rapacious healthcare system he personified and which Americans feel deep pain and humiliation about," wrote Ken Klippenstein, who joked that he hoped Thompson's ambulance ride "was in network."
Lorenz also reposted another Bluesky user who wrote, "[H}ypothetically, would it be considered an actionable threat to start emailing other insurance CEOs a simple ‘you're next’? Completely unrelated to current events btw.
GRA:That's a threat. If you're going to go to prison, you might as well go for something you did, instead of what you're threatening to do,lol.

Those three words on the bullet casings came from the variation of a book title called,"Deny,Delay and Defend"--by Jay Feinman--which investigated how to beat insurance companies who refuse to pay for services.
Seems like when gunslingers leave signature clues like this, they get caught, more often than not. He may have even offed himself--as the gunman was at a heightened, desperate moment in his life.
Or he goes on from here--alive--satisfied with his pushback against the system. We might never know.
