Biden interrupts prime-time to say nothing

"We must condemn violence."

A variation of "this must stop."

"We must lower the temperature of our disagreements."

Yawn. Until they (he) raises it again.

He said the word, "democracy," at least 10 times.

A code word that implies Trump is against it.

The dems' view of democracy is much different from actual "democracy." When they get their way, it's democracy. When they don't, it isn't.

I'm still wondering about the policeman that climbed the ladder and saw the shooter. Details on what happened are still sketchy:

https://www.businessinsider.com/local-officer-retreated-when-he-encountered-trump-rally-shooter-2024-7?op=1

The article suggests he didn't intervene because both hands were on the ladder so he couldn't shoot a gun and didn't want to get shot himself. I can't find an actual recreation of the scene online but if he was coming up over the side of the building he should have been able to drop down a couple of rungs for cover and pulled his gun. I could do that on a ladder, even at my age. It would be dangerous of course, maybe the shooter would have rushed him and shot down at him, or maybe been waiting to shoot him if he popped back up but cops don't hesitate to do that sort of thing on NCIS or any other cop show! So real life cops aren't gung ho courageous heroes willing to risk their lives to rescue innocents like they are on TV? Maybe that cop doesn't think of Trump or his supporters as innocents. Or maybe this guy is an Uvalde police force transfer?

From what I read,he went up the ladder to investigate and when he saw Crooks(or vice versa),Crooks turned his AR-15 at the cop, prompting a retreat(a fall?).It sounds like he wasn't expecting to see a sniper/assassin,though I don't know why not,as witnesses reported just that.

Is this cop going to remain unidentified? He shouldn't be.

We'll see.

SECRET SERVICE SAYS,"THAT BUILDING WAS NOT OUR JOB,MAN";CONTROVERSY ERUPTS

(NewsNation) — The building where the man who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump shot his weapon from was assigned to local authorities to cover, a U.S. Secret Service source told NewsNation.

The source said it’s standard for local police to handle areas outside the perimeter of an event because they know them better. The shooter was set up on a building some 130 yards away from Trump’s stage at a rally Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Secret Service was in charge of this security,” Butler County, Pennsylvania District Attorney Richard Goldinger confirmed to NewsNation. He said he was not aware of any county units assigned to the building, but it may have been another agency if that’s true. Goldinger added he did not want to get into a finger-pointing match with the Secret Service.

Biden Oval Office address: ‘It’s time to cool it down’
A local officer did check on the roof and found the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, the source said, but did not engage because he couldn’t reach his weapon and Crooks’ gun was pointed at him.

According to the source, the shooter was flagged in the security process as he entered the rally, but officers lost him in the crowd as they tried to follow him. He was then spotted on the roof, and the officer checked on him before backing off. Then, Crooks opened fire. A Secret Service sniper killed him shortly after.

Crooks’ shots injured, but did not kill, Trump and two attendees: David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74. Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed as he shielded his family from the fire.
