ARABS AND bLACKS FIGHT IN GRAND RAPIDS COURTROOM DURING MURDER TRIAL PRELIM
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A hearing for two homicide suspects was interrupted when a fight broke out in a downtown courtroom on Friday.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said that six people from the victim’s and defendants’ families were involved in the fight in Judge Kellen Dotson’s courtroom.
The preliminary hearing was for the Aug. 17, 2023, murder of 18-year-old Paul Anthony Pearson who was shot on Burton Street SW between Division and Buchanan Avenues(GRA:black ghetto area).
Abdinajib Abdullahi Abdi and Abdirizak Jeylani Abdiyow have been charged with open murder and felony firearm. Abdiyow also faces additional felony firearm charges.
