60 Minutes Interview Video: Anderson Cooper on Witnessing Tony Bennett's Final Act; See How Much You Can Take

By N.S.

I was only able to make it through 57 seconds.

When Harry Truman turned 80, a group of reporters visited him in Independence. Although Harry still had his wits about him, he was clearly physically diminished. He told them, “Remember me as I was, not as I am.”

60 Minutes

The 60 Minutes correspondent said of his report, “It was among the most extraordinary things I’d experienced on a shoot.”

I watched it last Sunday and the only part of Tony Bennett that's left,is what he enjoyed doing the most, during his life--singing.The rest of him is gone.

Like Glen Campbell, the one functioning part of his brain--that can recall anything--is that section, where the songs he sung for 50+ years, resides. The brain is a collection of many different functioning areas--at its peak. With Mr.Bennett, his functionality has disappeared in much of his brain.

How he could go on stage in August and perform two concerts successfully with Lady Gaga, was remarkable to view and sad--that he couldn't remember doing it--the next week.
