According to an article in the LA Time police shootings are the leading cause of death among black men? Oh wait...the headlines actually says "one" of the leadings causes of death...well, it's actually the 7th cause of death on the list provided by the article: https://www.latimes.com/science/story/2019-08-15/police-shootings-are-a-leading-cause-of-death-for-black-men
Where do I begin with this? Well first off the author's name is: Amina Khan, staff writer. Sound like a female Muslim name? Or a descendent of Kublai? I think it's a safe bet he or she is not of white European stock so we know where the loyalties lay.
I flashed by the article online and had the impression it said that police shootings are the leading cause of death among black men, and I suspect that millions of people seeing this will actually believe that was what it said. But that's how the MSM operates: Creating false impressions from headlines knowing that most people don't even bother to read the body of the articles.
There is so much race baiting psychological blackmail, erroneous thinking, unsupported nonsense and outright lies that I could go on for pages dissecting and demolishing it. However, it would require following the links, reviewing the source material and crunching numbers and I just don't feel up to it.
But I will comment on a few things. From the article:
"About 1 in 1,000 black men and boys in America can expect to die at the hands of police, according to a new analysis of deaths involving law enforcement officers. That makes them 2.5 times more likely than white men and boys to die during an encounter with cops".
OK, it says in that paragraph that 1 in 1,000 black men and boys can expect to die at the hands of police and that makes them 2.5 time more likely than white men/boys to die "during an encounter" with police. Waitasecond...the ratio of deaths per 1,000 does not correlate with number of encounters, that information was not supplied nor is it even mentioned in the article. If black men have encounters with cops at such astronomically higher levels than white men then the likelihood of cops pulling the trigger would actually be much lower than those stats indicate. Why is this not addressed? Obviously because that kind of information would contradict the narratives these kind of race baiting articles try to create.
Then the article resorts to hyperbole such as:
“That 1-in-1,000 number struck us as quite high,” said study leader Frank Edwards, a sociologist at Rutgers University. “That’s better odds of being killed by police than you have of winning a lot of scratch-off lottery games.”
Seriously? scratch off lottery games? Thousands of people across the country win scratch off games every year but on average around 300 blacks are shot by cop a year. How do those numbers even begin to equate? They don't, unless they are talking about million dollar winners and I suspect if you challenged the author she might say something of the sort. But that wasn't specified, it's really just a flat out lie.
Guess what names get dropped in the article? Here is the list of martyrs: Micheal Brown, Walter Scott, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice and Freddie Gray. As if individual cases actually mean anything in the larger framework of statistics, which they do not but those names push the emotional buttons of self hating whites and racist blacks! If you google the headline keywords the article has popped up around the country in a number of media outlets, all with similar headlines designed to create that false impression.
I could go on and on but I'm done, just read the article, I'm sure the readers of this blog are smart enough to intuit the chicanery, it's certainly not much different than the typical slop we get fed on a daily basis but this one is particularly egregious.
