I feel for this Cambodian woman.

The area in which she lives is known as Little Asia.

I used to live in Old East Dallas about 20 years ago. Old East Dallas is now rapidly gentrifying.

The apartments in which she lives were sub-par 20 years ago. I cannot imagine what they are like today.

But how did she get here? Is she a refugee? My brother has rental properties in Old East Dallas. Twenty years ago he rented one of his houses to a family of Cambodian refugees. This refugee family, like many others, acclimated to life in America and moved to the suburbs. This old lady must have been left behind.

The lot the house sits on is huge. You cannot see it from the front, but the backyard is so deep you can play touch football back there. This land was always zoned multi-family (duplex). My brother told me a few weeks ago that the lot (not the house) can be sold for $300,000 to $350,000 for a teardown. Teardowns are happening all around this neighborhood. For example, this unit is a block over from my brother's property.

The poor in this country are being shafted. And they are being shafted by the elites who continue to import more poor folks from the Third World, like the refugee mentioned in the article.

Why are the elites doing this?

If that woman owns the lot she needs to sell and get outta there and into more comfortable surroundings right away.
