Black Ref,Patrick Turner,Misses Call in NO/LAR Game.
(GRA)It took some digging,but my investigation into who the name of the black ref was-that blew the most obvious interference call in NFL history--turned up Patrick Turner as the guilty party.
In all the stories written,it was difficult to find anything more than"the refs missed an egregious call"--no names were mentioned.Photos of the play showed a black official closest to the play in question.
Finally,the LA Times came through,as the only on-line media outlet to list the two refs in the area.Turner is closest and is pictured with his mouth wide open,looking at the play.I Googled "Patrick Turner" and sure enough,it was him.
Without a penalty call,New Orleans was forced to kick a field goal and eventually lost.
The NFL has since apologized to the New Orleans Saints organization for another black fu*k up.
