If you thought the Donald Sterling scandal was over, guess again. Just when things went quiet regarding the Los Angeles Clippers owner’s racist remarks that resulted in a lifetime ban from the NBA, his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, is being investigated for extortion. The thought she may have blackmailed Sterling isn’t new, but now it’s official.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office apparently thinks enough of the accusations against Stiviano to do something about it.This comes after multiple rumors surfaced that Magic Johnson conspired for Stiviano to record the conversation and leak it so that Sterling would be forced to sell the team and Johnson could then buy it.

This came after Johnson immediately said he’d like to buy the team once the recording was made public.

Stiviano’s interview with Barbara Walters also created some more speculation when she said “there’s a number of other hours that the world doesn’t know,” referring to the 15-minute conversation that went public. A new report says Stiviano claims to have over 100 hours of such recordings, which has undoubtedly led the L.A. D.A.’s office to question her intentions.

Even more so, Stiviano was very hesitant when choosing her words to answer Walters when asked how she was paid by Sterling, eventually saying it was initially as an employee and then “off the books.”

Without realizing it, Stiviano has turned this entire scandal around to point at her instead of Sterling, who could possibly end up enduring a much lighter punishment than the one NBA commissioner Adam Silver originally sentenced.

Finally, regardless of whether the extortion accusations are true, a potential conspirer could be uncovered, which could make Silver even angrier than he claimed to be at the press conference regarding this entire mess.
