But not in Greenville, SC
Pickens County sheriff refuses to lower flag for Mandela
GREENVILLE NEWS - The American flag that flies over the Pickens County Sheriff's Office will be raised high over the weekend despite an order by President Barack Obama that flags across the country be lowered to half-staff to honor the death of iconic South African leader Nelson Mandela.
Sheriff Rick Clark told GreenvilleOnline that he is ordering the flag be raised on Sunday because the honor of lowering flags to half-staff should be reserved for Americans.
"The flag at half-staff is for Americans' ultimate sacrifice for our country," Clark said. "We should never stray away from that."

But I don't have my own blog. It's hard to have your own blog when you're a toy dog with no opposable thumbs.
May God bless, and strengthen, Sheriff Rick Clark.
It grieves me that Obama probably knows what Mandela was really like.
He should install another flag pole. And put a flag with a big, white middle finger painted on it, and lower IT to half-staff.
Obama the Usurper, blocks WWII vets from their memorial in DC (the district of corruption), ignores Dday, refuses to place his hand over his heart while the band is playing the National Anthem, but he orders the Stars and Stripes to be lower for a foreigner and a terrorist who is dead. Obama who has done nothing for this country but this country has given him much more than it has given most True Americans. We will never be rid of this traitor.
