Jeremy Hefner (1-5, 4.74) will be on the mound for the 22-32 Mets tomorrow, giving them the best possible chance to ring up another loss.
Last night, the Mets achieved the dubious distinction being swept in particularly humiliating fashion by the worst team in baseball, the Miami Marlins. When the series began, the Mets were 22-29, and on a five-game winning streak, while the Marlins were 13-41.
Back when the Nats were the worst team in baseball, the Mets regularly found ways to lose, and even get swept in series against them.
