Knox County DAG: Death Penalty Only for Davidson

By David in TN

On Thursday, the Knox County District Attorney General’s office made a big announcement: The death penalty would be sought only for Lemaricus Davidson in the upcoming retrials of the Knoxville Horror killers.

We already knew this. Co-defendants Letalvis Cobbins and George Thomas escaped the death penalty in their first trials, and because of double jeopardy can only face “life” in their retrial. Vanessa Coleman was convicted only of facilitation regarding Channon, and now faces only this charge.

Although the Knox County DAG made an appeal of sorts, we might as well plan on the retrials taking place. I just can't see the higher courts overruling Judge Blackwood's decision for retrials.

Baumgarnter ended up creating even more mischief than anyone ever imagined.
