I'm a child of the Norman Lear era of vicious and merciless portrayals that so maligned old stock middle Americans, so forgive me these crocodile tears over Oliphant's recent portrayal of Lear and his brethren ;-)

Oliphant will not get another Pulitzer for this cartoon, to answer your question.

It is more likely that he will be censured by the NYT.

The SPLC may even move to sue him.
